“Aragorn knelt beside him. Boromir opened his eyes and strove to speak. At last slow words came. ‘I tried to take the Ring from Frodo,’ he said. ‘I am sorry. I have paid…Farewell, Aragorn! Go to Minas Tirith and save my people! I have failed.’ ‘No!’ said Aragorn, taking his hand and kissing his brow. ‘You have conquered. Few have gained such a victory. Be at peace! Minas Tirith shall not fall!’” - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers

“Frodo bent his head. ‘And what do you wish?’ he said at last.

‘That what should be shall be,’ she answered. ‘The love of the Elves for their land and their works is deeper than the deeps of the Sea, and their regret is undying and cannot ever wholly be assuaged. Yet they will cast all away rather than submit to Sauron: for they know him now. For the fate of Lothlorien you are not answerable, but only for the doing of your own task. Yet I could wish, were it of any avail, that the One Ring had never been wrought, or had remained for ever lost.’” - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

“I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew:

Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew.

Beyond the Sim, beyond the Moon, the foam was on the Sea,

And by the strand ofllmarin there grew a golden Tree.

Beneath the stars of Ever- eve in Eldamar it shone,

In Eldamar beside the walls of Elven Tirion.

There long the golden leaves have grown upon the branching years.

While here beyond the Sundering Seas now fall the Elventears.

O Lorien! The Winter comes, the bare and leafless Day;

The leaves are falling in the stream, the River flows away.

O Lorien! Too long I have dwelt upon this Hither Shore

And in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor.

But if of ships I now should sing, what ship would come to me,

What ship would bear me ever back across so wide a Sea?” - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

If you’re new around here, welcome! It’s been a while since I properly introduced myself, so I wanted to give you a look behind the lens and into my brain.

I’m Liza, a fine art portrait photographer based in Brooklyn specializing in fantasy and cinematic storytelling

A quick glimpse into what I do & what you’ll find on my feed:
📸 Cinematic fantasy portraiture & dramatic studio lighting
🛠️ Prop fabrication, set builds, & behind the scenes
🌲 Immersive photo retreats & fandoms to life

A few fun facts:
• I hold an honors degree in European History & Theatre (and spent years professional acting and scenic painting!).
• I’ve had the joy of creating with brands like Prime Video’s Rings of Power, HBO’s Our Flag Means Death, Adobe, and author Holly Black.
• Right now, I’m editing a massive, book-accurate 18-person Lord of the Rings project from August, and gearing up for a crowdfunded Moulin Rouge concept!
Whether you’re here for the photography, the prop-building breakdowns, or just love immersive storytelling, I’m so glad you’re here.

“But neither, lady, is the Twilight for me; for I am mortal, and if you will cleave to me, Evenstar, then the Twilight you must also renounce.’’ ‘And she stood then as still as a white tree, looking into the West, and at last she said: ‘‘I will cleave to you, Du´nadan, and turn from the Twilight. Yet there lies the land of my people and the long home of all my kin.’’ She loved her father dearly.” - The Tale of Aragorn & Arwen, J.R.R. Tolkien, Return of the King

“The face of Elrond was ageless, neither old nor young, though in it was written the memory of many things both glad and sorrowful. His hair was dark as the shadows of twilight, and upon it was set a circlet of silver; his eyes were grey as a clear evening, and in them was a light like the light of stars. Venerable he seemed as a king crowned with many winters, and yet hale as a tried warrior in the fulness of his strength. He was the Lord of Rivendell and mighty among both Elves and Men.” - J.R.R. In the books, it is the eleven lord Glorfindel who offers his horse Asfaloth to Frodo to ride to Rivendell. For the movies, Peter Jackson wanted Arwen to have a more active role and decided she should take Frodo.
