Model Portfolio - waste of money or solution of your problems?

Well, good Portfolio is your perfect first impression. I always say that you never get a second chance to make first impression. The mission of a good Portfolio is to present your unique style, your skills, your ability to change, your acting skills.

• You don’t need to have 1000000 photos in your portfolio. Guys, nowadays agents in model agencies don’t have much time to look hours trough your portfolio, they will look at maximum 1-2 minutes and it means that your portfolio should be enough outstanding and bright to capture attention.

• I highly recommend to choose 4-5 model agencies which fits your interest and style and do research about their mission, and look through their photos to understand what type of portfolio they will like to see. Build your portfolio according to style of model agencies which you like, this way you will rise your chances to be noticed and signed.

• Portfolio should include minimum 4 different looks. They should be dramatically different to demonstrate your ability to change and work in different styles.

• Your Portfolio should reflect YOUR character and skills and not copy successful top model.

• New York is specialized in high fashion, so majority of good model agencies will prefer to see portfolio where models don’t have Heavy make up or glamorous look.

• Portfolio can be a waste of money if you choose unprofessional photographer or don’t understand what you want to do with your portfolio in future.

• You can build your portfolio with different photographers or with one who is super creative and can create really different looks.

• If it is your first time shooting so I highly recommend you to do research and not hurry up with choosing the photographer. I always say that first shooting is like first s*x, if it was bad experience so it will influence your future shootings.

You will not have a second chance to make foray impression. So make sure that your Portfolio reflects your unique personality, your best skills and show your potential.

Don’t copy somebodies Portfolio, because it never works the way you think. Something that looks great on somebody is not going to look the same way on you so find professional photographer who will understand you aim and with who you will be in the same page and create masterpiece.

Comp card.

Guys, you need to know that comp card is actually your model or actor business card. Why it is important to have stylish design and leave it in model agencies, or after each casting? Because in New York ( top fashion city in the world) there are too many models and you perfectly understand that agents are not able to remember all models after castings so if you give them outstanding comp card your chances to be noticed are much higher.

I make individuals designed comp cards according to your modeling or agency style.
