"I see several positives in the 'new normal' that we're facing. People are closer to family and loved ones than ever before. People are becoming better cooks. They’re causing less harm to the planet. Practically, they’re also proving that working from home is possible for many of us and perhaps mandatory attendance at offices isn’t going to be as crucial as it once was. Oh, and people are reading more!"

"When this all ends I hope that people won't forget the true heroes that got us through all this. The truck drivers, delivery people, grocery store employees, janitors, garbage men, small business owners that stayed open to serve the communities, and of course the hospital workers. I hope the new normal after all this is said and done, is people showing appreciation for the everyday workers instead of athletes and celebrities. I can see a future where we, as humans, can finally come together to work & live as one."

"People think smoke detectors are a nuisance . . . until one saves their life. We were caught in a vulnerable situation in this pandemic in part because a lot of the early-warning infrastructure and expertise had been gutted by our government. Our smoke detectors had been discarded, so now our house is burning down. Perhaps this will be a good lesson for the future."

"No matter how bad a situation might seem, there is always a positive aspect to be found. What we are going through globally at the moment makes us realize how much we took for granted, and just how far we've strayed from the essence of our true being. What I see and feel around me is the unification of people in the struggle with this disaster. Our collective fear brings us closer to each other. The feeling of gratitude is getting stronger, the will to survive drives us forward."

"What's bringing me hope these days are children.
Children in my neighborhood have been making chalk drawings with positive messages all along the sidewalk. It really brightens my day when I go out for walks. The positive outlook that children have on the world gives me hope."

"My inspiration comes from the emergence of compassionate humanity and humility in times of distress. We saw it, particularly in New York City, in the days after 9/11 and we’re seeing it in a different way now. The simple act of pausing and checking in with someone to say: “Are you OK?” The deep caring of the sick and elderly among us. The scripture says that “a man’s pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.” We are seeing the lifting up of the “humble” among us: grocery and restaurant workers, cleaning crews, teachers, health care workers, and more. A virtual upending of the normal order. This will only be a temporary shift of focus unless more permanent economic and institutional change comes out of this crisis, but in the meantime, I’m inspired by the awareness of all of the members of our community who otherwise don’t get a lot of shine."

"By honoring this global pause, and in getting more still and quiet, my natural leadership and ways of being of service are activating on a deeper level. This 'pause moment' is helping re-align what's most important and leads to the rabbit hole of a deeper purpose. And that, my friends, is damn inspiring" 😊

"Life is always uncertain and even though we each wake up every day to the unknown, we don't always fully realize it. Now, we all wake up every day with a little more awareness of that and there is truth in that - I live for truth, and that is what always brings me hope."

"Inspiration and motivation are difficult right now. When the days start blending together and all you want is to be outside, it can be easy to resign in front of the TV and let the time pass. I’ve been very fortunate to have my partner with me during this whole mess, to remind me to pick myself up, to exercise, to smile, and to apply myself toward something each day. I’ve been working on learning some new skills, and it’s really helped the days feel less monotonous. Staying connected is probably the best thing we all can do."
