There was something about this family session that stayed with me.
I think it was how intentional I felt going into it - not just to capture everyone looking at the camera, but to preserve the raw connection and the fleeting, beautiful chaos of this stage of life. Of course, the perfectly posed photos matter too. Those are the ones you frame. But with little kids, the magic is so often in everything in between.
The toddler clinging to mom’s leg, then hiding under her dress. The laughter and squeals as dad spun her around. The baby’s wide, curious eyes. The soft cheeks pressed against mom’s. The little details too - the endless snotty nose, the constant movement, the way baby kept stealing dad’s glasses and launching them like it was the funniest game in the world.
That’s the part I want my clients to remember when they look back on these photos years from now - not just what this season looked like, but exactly what it felt like.
