One final ride 🌅 the water salute and final taxi of an USMC AV-8B Harrier II & TAV-8B Harrier II

The final flight of the United States Marine Corp AV-8B Harrier II has been completed. As of June 3rd, 2026 the Harriers belonging to VMA-223 “The Bulldogs” are no longer in service, on top of this the final VMA squadron (Marine Attack Squadron) has officially come to an end. While the Bulldogs might be back with the F35B someday, they will be under VMFA-223 (Marine Fighter Attack Squadron). With the final flight being complete MCAS Cherry Point no longer has its beloved Harrier “Jump Jets.” I truly will miss these beloved jets. From watching the final out-of-state demo at Atlantic City in 2023 with VMA-231, to the Harriers attending the Navy 250 anniversary in Philadelphia.

In COD we trust

After years of seeing the C-2A Grayhound but not having my camera, I was finally able to capture these beloved aircraft. C-2A 162159 (nose #40) and 162149 (nose #47) over the Hudson River for Sail4th 250 NYC 250 flyovers. It was so awesome to capture these VRC-40 “Rawhides” birds for the final time as they were retired shortly after. Such a beautiful aircraft that is sadly gone. Hopefully someone can purchase a private one and fly it at airshows like the C-1!

USAF Tri-Bomber Formation flyby for the Sail4th 250 NYC 250 flybys!

Leading the flyby is a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber number 82-1067 is from Whiteman AFB.

The second aircraft in formation is a B-1b bomber nicknamed “the bone” aircraft 85-0079 is from Ellsworth AFB.

Finally trailing the flyby is B-52H Stratofortress 60-0001 from Minot AFB flying over. Aircraft 60-0001 is the OLDEST active B-52H being delivered in 1960. Making this aircraft 66 years old.

Happy Warthog Wednesday!

Here are my takes of the A10s that flew over during the International Naval Review 250 flyovers. Was awesome to see the new 250 engine art aircraft and cross another two A10 squadrons off my list being the 357th Fighter Squadron from Davis-Monthan AFB (DM tail) and the 303rd fighter squadron from Whitman AFB (KC Tail).

Whistling Death over NAS Pax River!

Jim Tobul’s Vought F4U Corsair “Korean War Hero” put on a show over NAS Pax River during a hot weekend in June. The F4U Corsair has two different liveries. On the Port side she wears a livery from VF-653 “Dragons”, a squadron based on the USS Valley Forge from 1951 to 1952. The squad was based at NAS Akron, Ohio. The starboard side is rocking a livery from VF-884 “Bitter Birds,” a squadron based on the USS Boxer from March to October in 1951. The squad was based at Olathe, Kansas. It was great seeing this beautiful bird for the first time and one of my favorite WWII fighters at that!

Special thanks to Jim Tobul and Joe Tobul for restoring and flying this beautiful aircraft.

The United States Navy Blue Angels at NAS Patuxent River!

The Blues put up an awesome demo at Pax River. From the diamond rolls to knife edge passes the Blues are in my opinion the greatest all around demo team. Unfortunately Albert is in England getting work done however enjoy my shots of the Hornets ripping in Southern Maryland.

The Hurricane Hunters

NOAA WP-3D Orion flying over the Hudson River celebrating Americas 250th birthday! Only two of these birds exist, one being N42RF “Kermit” and N43RF “Miss Piggy” being the one photograph. The P3 is my favorite aircraft ever and being able to see the NOAA one up close was awesome.

The US Marines newest stealth fighter puts on a show at Atlantic City airshow. The F-35B Lightning II is named after the P38 Lightning. Known as the The Fork-Tailed Devil the P38 was one of the best fighters during WWII. The F-35B being named after the P38 honor and the F-35 lives up to it. Having two engines the F-35 is able to hover and activate STOVL (Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing). This F35 comes from MCAS Beaufort in South Carolina and is part of the F-35B demo team for the Marines.

The legendary North American P51 Mustang and Curtiss P40 Warhawk from the American Airpower Museum make an appearance at the Atlantic City airshow. The star of the show was the P40 having many low passes over the ocean. Unfortunately there was a haze early in their demo that caused some of the pictures to be blurry. Hope to see this duo again soon as they put on a great show.
