80 years ago today, Imperial Japan formally surrendered aboard the USS Missouri anchored in Tokyo Bay. Stan Kerkhoff was the Missouri's photographic officer and found himself with a unique opportunity to capture this historic moment, while also keeping an eye on on the Soviet delegation which was as interested in the American warship as the events unfolding.
