🌻 The love between a mother and daughter is unlike anything else. It grows through scraped knees, bedtime stories, belly laughs, hard conversations, and quiet moments just like this one. It’s a love that deserves to be remembered—not just in our hearts, but in photographs.

To every mom reading this…

Please stop listening to that little voice that tells you you’re too tired, too old, too busy, or that you need to lose a few pounds before stepping in front of the camera.

That voice is lying.

Your child doesn’t see the things you criticize in yourself. They don’t notice your wrinkles, your stretch marks, or whether your hair is perfect. They see Mom—their safe place, their biggest cheerleader, the person they run to when the world feels too big.

One day, these photographs won’t be about how you looked.

Yesterday marked one year since I lost my dad.

A whole year.

Grief has a way of changing you. It changes how you look at life, what matters, and what you wish you had done differently.

As I sat looking at this photo—his ci******es, his favorite cookies, the feather that reminds me he’s still with me, and the memorial card—I couldn’t stop thinking about one thing…

Take the pictures.

Don’t wait until you’ve lost the weight.
Don’t wait until next summer.
Don’t wait until life calms down.
Don’t wait until the kids are older.
Don’t wait for the “perfect” time.

Because the truth is… you don’t know how much time you have.

One day, the photos you almost didn’t take become the ones your family treasures the most. They become the proof that you were here, that you loved, that you laughed, and that you lived.

As a photographer, I get to preserve those moments for other families every day. But yesterday reminded me why this job means so much to me.

Photos aren’t just pictures.

They’re time machines.
