Some wedding days leave you with beautiful photographs, and others leave a little piece of themselves on your heart. Payton and Jake’s wedding was one of those days. 🤍

From the moment I arrived at Emma’s Driftwood Farm, I was completely in awe. Breathtaking, thoughtful, and welcoming are just a few words that come to mind. Every building, every space, and every little detail felt so intentionally designed. It was the most beautiful setting for a day that I can only describe as coastal elegance at its finest.

And then there’s Payton and Jake. 🥹 The way Jake looks at Payton, with that little twinkle in his eyes and the sweetest smile on his face, genuinely gives me goosebumps. There is something so incredibly special about witnessing a love that feels so pure, so effortless, and so deeply genuine. And seeing that love reflected in their precious little boy, Trip, with his blonde hair and sweetest little face, made it all the more meaningful.

Every detail of their day was a reflection of who they are. From the beautiful invitations Payton designed herself to the effortlessly elegant tablescapes adorned with calla lilies and palm leaves. Nothing felt overdone, yet everything felt so intentional. Simple, personal, timeless, and absolutely breathtaking.

I think that’s what I’ll remember most about this day. It wasn’t just how beautiful everything looked, but how beautiful everything felt.

Payton and Jake, thank you for allowing me to witness and preserve this chapter of your story. What a privilege it is to document a love like yours, one that has already created such a beautiful little legacy. I pray the years ahead are filled with that same twinkle in your eyes, the same joy in your smiles, and a lifetime of moments worth remembering.

✨ WE’RE GROWING! ✨

Magnolia Legacy Photography is looking for a SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER to join our wedding day team! 🤍📸

This isn’t just a “pick up a second shooting job here and there” position. I’m looking for someone who wants to become a consistent part of our MLP family — someone I can trust, grow with, laugh with on wedding days, and have beside me for the majority of my weddings.

This could be PERFECT for you if you’re a family, couples, or lifestyle photographer who loves photography but doesn’t necessarily want the responsibility of photographing weddings on your own. You get to be in the wedding environment, photograph beautiful details and moments, and enjoy the fun of a wedding day without carrying the full weight of being the lead photographer.

OR…

Maybe you DO want to photograph weddings on your own one day. This position will give you LOTS of hands-on wedding experience while working alongside me — from details and getting ready through ceremonies, portraits, receptions, lighting situations, timelines, and all the beautiful chaos in between.

A few details:

•Second Photographer for Magnolia Legacy Photography weddings
• 6 hours per wedding
•Typically 1–2 Saturdays per month
•$50/hour
•Travel compensation for weddings more than 50 miles from you
•Weddings are contracted in advance, so you’ll know the dates you’re committing to
•LOTS of hands-on wedding experience
•A team environment where I genuinely want you to feel like family

Because consistency is really important to me and to the experience I give my couples, I’m looking for someone who can be available for approximately 95% of the weddings we schedule together. And because LIFE HAPPENS! I completely understand that emergencies come up, vacations get planned, family events happen, or you may already have something scheduled. We can absolutely work together to arrange a replacement when needed. I’m not looking for perfection; I’m looking for commitment, communication, and someone who genuinely wants to be part of this team.

I’m also looking for someone who is CONFIDENT with people.
Wedding days sometimes require us to step in and take control of a situation. You need to be comfortable directing brides and grooms, organizing family members, wrangling groomsmen 😂, giving clear instructions during portraits, and helping keep things moving when needed. At the same time, you need to know when to step back and simply observe. One of the biggest things I’m looking for is someone who can ANTICIPATE moments before they happen, Mom tearing up while her daughter gets into her dress, Grandma watching from across the room, Dad taking one last look before walking his daughter down the aisle, the groom laughing with his best friends, or the little interactions happening when no one realizes the camera is there. I want someone who is always watching for the moments happening outside of the “main” moment. Technical skill matters, but HEART, awareness, and how you treat people matter just as much to me.

When you reach out, I’d love to see a portfolio that shows me more than just your prettiest posed portraits. Please include examples of:
-Candid moments
-“Fly on the wall” storytelling images
-Portraits
-Fun + personality-filled moments
-Detail photographs
