Today is one of those days when we slow down just a little.

September 11th.

We remember the lives lost, the families changed forever, and the heroes who stepped forward when their fellow Americans needed them most.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We never forget.

And here in a small Texas town, Gary and Shady are reminded that community still matters — neighbors helping neighbors, folks looking out for one another, and good people standing together.

Shady says there’s always time for a little walk, a little sunshine, and a whole lot of gratitude. 🐾❤️

🏍️ THIS WEEKEND IN WICHITA FALLS

The Ladies in Leather Bike Rally & Parade is happening at Kay Yeager Coliseum today from 10 AM–9 PM, with the parade and rally continuing Saturday. The event also includes a food-drive effort.

So if you hear those motorcycles rolling through town, Shady might just think somebody's bringing the whole neighborhood along for a ride! 😎🐾

Today, though, our trail is about gratitude.

Life is precious. Friends are precious. And every mile we get to walk together is a gift. ❤️

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9TH — “MIDWEEK & MILES TO GO!” ☀️

Good Wednesday morning, Burkburnett! ☕🐾

We made it to the middle of the week, y’all!

Gary’s got the coffee, Shady’s got her nose working overtime, and apparently somebody forgot to tell Shady that Wednesday is supposed to be a “slow down” day. 😂

So today, we’re taking the trail one little adventure at a time.

🐾 TODAY’S TRAIL PLAN:

☕ Coffee first — always coffee first!
🚶 A little fresh-air time around town
🐶 Let Shady investigate every suspicious-looking blade of grass
🌵 Enjoy a little Texas sunshine
❤️ Find something good to smile about

🎨 SOMETHING HAPPENING IN WICHITA FALLS

If you're looking for a midweek activity, the Wichita Falls Public Library Recreation Center has Acrylic Painting at 6:00 PM, Adult Ballet at 6:00 PM, and Barre Class at 6:45 PM today.

Shady says she would attend the painting class...

but only if paw prints count as abstract art. 😂🐾🎨

For Gary and Shady, the lesson is simple:

You don't have to go far to find a good day. Sometimes all you need is a little Texas sunshine, a good cup of coffee, and a friend who won't let you walk the trail alone. ❤️

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4TH — LABOR DAY WEEKEND! 🎉🇺🇸

Well, folks… the long weekend has officially arrived! 😎

Gary’s got the coffee, Shady’s got the adventure department fired up, and around here that can only mean one thing:

TIME TO HIT THE TRAIL! 🐾🚗💨

Labor Day is a good reminder to slow down for a minute and appreciate the folks who keep our towns, businesses, families, and communities moving forward. 🇺🇸

And if you’re looking for something fun this weekend, Wichita Falls has Retro South Video Game Expo happening Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th at the Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall. 🎮

🇺🇸 BURKBURNETT, THIS IS OUR MOMENT 🇺🇸

We always say this town takes care of its own.
Right now—we get to prove it.

This is Ashley Nettles.

She’s part of our community.
And every single day… she walks 2 HOURS to work and 2 HOURS back home.

Four hours.
On foot.
In Texas heat, wind, and cold.

Ashley was in a serious car accident when she was young that left her with a lifelong disability…
but she still shows up. Every day. No excuses.

That kind of grit?
That’s small-town strong.

But here’s the truth—
she shouldn’t have to do this alone.

We’re coming together as a community to get Ashley an electric 3-wheel bike so she can get to work safely and finally have some relief.

This is bigger than a bike.
This is Burkburnett showing who we are.

💥 If 200 people gave just $10… we’d be there.
💥 If you can’t give, sharing this could reach someone who can.

Let’s rally like we always do.
