Iceland - 2022

My first passport stamp for my 35th birthday. I couldn't have chosen better and can't wait to visit Iceland again (maybe not in winter next time though!)

Some of the places visited in this video (not in chronological order):
Reykjavik
Hallgrimskirkja
Keflavik
Garður
Hvalsneskirkja
Sandvik
Hveragerði
Stekkjarkot
Ytri-Njarðvíkurkirkja
Icelandic Museum of Rock and Roll
Holmsberg lighthouse
Garður Old Lighthouse
Galgar a Stafnesi
Hafnir beach
North-American land bridge
Gunnuhver Hot Springs
Blue Lagoon
Þingvellir national park
Strokkur
Gullfoss waterfal

If you've been lucky enough to experience Iceland yourself, what was your favorite memory? It's been almost a year since we traveled there and I still dream of the warm people, cookies and cream landscape, and insane architecture.

Everything about Iceland was beautiful and amazing, but this church ( ) has a crazy spell over me. I’m not sure if it terror or amazement or just admiration for unique architecture, but I’m so glad I have a million photos of it.

Þingvellir National Park, Iceland

“Located on the Golden Circle route, Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park is one of the most frequently visited attractions in Iceland. This area contains interesting landscapes and has an outstanding significance both historically and geologically.

Thingvellir (or, in Icelandic, Þingvellir) is the only place in the world where you can stand between two continental plates, in a distinctive geological landscape that changes every year. Part of the Golden Circle, Þingvellir is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an important historical location in Iceland. Visit Thingvellir National Park all year round and explore one of the most unique geological sites in the world!

Located in southwest Iceland, Thingvellir (or Þingvellir, in Icelandic) is held in high esteem thanks to a rich cultural and geological history. Thingvellir is known as the birthplace of Iceland as a nation, and home to the oldest ongoing parliament in the world. In the boundaries of this unique national park, the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates drift away from each other. You can walk in the seismic rift valley that marks the border between the two continents. The plates slowly shift apart by 0.78 in (2 cm) a year, changing the landscape and creating an extraordinary sight.”

Wow, I haven't logged on here since August!

If you know me, you know I don't love social media - it gives me crazy anxiety, and I also have put photography and blogging on the back-burner while focusing on finishing school and caring for my little family.

2022 has started off to be an amazing year, traveling to Iceland, Boston, seeing two of my birth families, getting ready to graduate, and starting my job of being a Pe*******on Tester (Ethical Hacker). I DO want to find more time to pick up my camera and blog this year! I've had a blog more or less consistently since 2000 (anyone remember Livejournal and Yahoo's Angelfire webhosting 😛) and plan to incorporate my etsy hobbies into travel and 365 blogging.

I migrated from Squarespace to a Wordpress framework and unpublished most posts that needed to be reformatted for the new system, and slowly have been bringing them back to life. I found photos I made while hiking with the kids in Hawaii and got some MAJOR FEELS.

To anyone who still sees these posts, thanks for sticking around and lots of
