Hey y’all! I wanted to introduce myself and put a face to the name behind Bar Spade Photography. My name is Cade Henry, and I’ve been behind the lens for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in eastern Colorado, where my love for horses and the ranching way of life was built from the ground up. I was raised riding horses and doing just about anything you can imagine, and the equine industry has been a part of my life since day one. It’s shaped who I am, both personally and professionally.
A few fun facts about me: I’m AI certified in cattle, a soon-to-be veterinary technician, and my long-term goals include becoming a certified equine craniosacral therapist and an equine rehab and therapeutics specialist. Working at a vet clinic in my hometown sparked my dream of traveling the country and working on horses — and the more I learn, the more I’ve even considered pursuing veterinary school to specialize in equine medicine!
Photography has always been more than just taking pictures for me — it’s about capturing real moments that matter. Watching this page and my work grow has meant the world to me, and I truly couldn’t have done it without the support of each and every one of you.
If you couldn’t tell, rodeo photography holds a special place in my heart. I didn’t just fall in love with the sport — I grew up in it. My entire family rodeos in some way, and it has always been what brings us together. I grew up watching my mom and her friends compete, and that’s where my photography journey really began when I look back on it. Rodeo has a way of creating community wherever you go, and that sense of family is a big reason I love the sport as much as I do.
When you book with Bar Spade Photography, you’re not just getting a photographer — you’re getting someone who understands the lifestyle, the sport, and the moments that matter most.
