Rolled the dice and brought my drone with me to Scotland. No issues with flying in an other country either, just being careful and respectful around the public. If you can do those things you can end up with some pretty incredible images and video.

This longer format video highlights some of my favorite spots we visited. It's cinematic cuts or lack their of, is meant for you to sit back and relax while watching the beautiful scenes of Scotland.

Anyway, hope you all like it! Feel free to ask me any questions or share with someone you may think will enjoy it.

Took a step back from big vista photography and went for a dog walk the other day on a foggy overcast day. Brought both lenses with me not knowing what to expect on a new trail. Just kept an open mind and and open eye and found beauty in the little things. I don’t normally photograph the little scenes but this was a nice way to step back and zoom in.

Here’s another composition of Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in ME. If I was just a little earlier I probably would have had a better reflection and position. But this being a very popular spot I had to work with this angle. I went between black and white and color here. I think the black and white does a better job of accentuating the rocks and the lighthouse.

It’s taken me a while to post this shot I took from Bass Harbor Head Light. I wanted to take time on this shot to make sure I didn’t miss anything in the editing process. As the light darkened I was able to drag the shutter long enough to get some nice motion of the water on the rocks. With the scene at this time of day the red light became more prominent and timed up several shots so that I’d be sure to include it in the photo. That combined with the clouds I think really bring this shot together well and is one of my favorites from the trip.

Bubble Rock located in Acadia National Park is a spectacular scene after a 40ish minute hike. Located a little off the mane trail it holds on by what looks like only a couple feet. To get the this shot to stand out the most I lowered myself so that I’d be looking up while also creating leading lines in the foreground to bring the whole image together. I chose black and white here because it was a sort of bland and overcasted day with little foliage. There was also nice color in the granite but I though there was more contrast in the bland and white image.

Went back through some of these shots and found this sequence of waves and light I liked. The black and white also pulls out some great contrast. Which do you like more?
