First off, happy Labor Day! Today's holiday marks an important recognition of the American labor movement and the accomplishments and contributions of this country's workers. Now, to the photos: A few weeks ago I ventured to the Lake Champlain waterfront in Burlington, Vermont, for a late-summer sunrise. I had hoped to capture the setting full moon, too, and barely managed to squeeze off a couple quick frames right after I arrived before the bright moon vanished behind the clouds, never to be seen again (this particular morning, anyway). The clouds themselves proved fascinating, moving and changing colors in a host of layers from right over the north breakwater lighthouse to fog-like wisps that clung to the Adirondacks across the water in New York.
