I work on how educational travel is closely tied to nurturing communities. All communities need to inventory the assets that are unique and find ways to market those to likeminded visitors.. "Come for the learning experience and stay longer."
About 45 + years ago I started a Free University here in Celo, NC, Cabin Fever University

I liked the ideas that Ivan Illich was offering about having community members share things they were passionate about with neighbors and friends during the winter.Each year there are up to 100 offerings.
