Most smartphone images are taken at eye level. But when you lower your phone almost to the ground, ordinary scenes can suddenly look extraordinary..

Here's a simple trick to try anytime you are scouting for photos

Hold Your Smartphone Just An Inch Or Two Above The Ground.
* Tilt it slightly upward and look for interesting lines, textures or objects in the foreground. Sidewalks become dramatic leading lines, fallen leaves look larger than life and ordinary paths suddenly have incredible depth.

Here's A Tip I Would Love To Share With You:

Let's keep that color in the sky and here's how; A sky with no color is uninteresting and detracts from all the other elements in your image, plus it would make your prints completely white. Capture your scenic landscape photographs at golden hour or blue hour, which is the best time to keep from blowing out your skies, or you can use a graduated ND filter.

Light defines the Mood, the Golden Hour paints everything in soft warmth, while the Blue Hour - just before sunrise or after sunset adds a calm cinematic tone.

Please don't avoid Cloudy Days, they create texture and atmosphere especially in the sky. Below are just a few examples of what I mean..
* Mountains: Wait for light to skim the peaks - tip; side light adds shape.
* Coastal Scenes: Use a longer exposure to blur waves - tip; which highlight the movement.
* Forests at Dawn: Mist and dappled light - tip; This will turn chaos into poetry.

Landscape Photography Tips On Camera Settings:

There's not a single group of settings that will work with every image. It depends on your light and priorities for your image. But in general, use a mid-range to narrow aperture like f/8, f/11 or narrower. That will give more depth of field. More depth of field means more of your image will be in focus from front to back.

After you identify and set your aperture, depth of field, set your shutter speed and ISO. Keep your ISO as low as you can. Example, if you are shooting an image with people in it, use a shutter speed fast enough to freeze their motion like, 1/200 to 1/500 (remember faster for bikes and cars).

Now, if you want to smooth clouds or water, use longer shutter speed start around 2 seconds and adjust your shutter speed from there. Once you adjust your shutter speed, make sure you are shooting in RAW format. This format gives you more information and detail than JPEG. If you need to edot in post-processing, you'll have more flexibility with RAW files.

Here's my Conclusion; you don't need to be standing in The Bad Lands to practice your landscape techniques. Landscspes are a great way to combine your love of nature to your love of photography. Practicing will make your landscapes you see everyday look more interesting and beautiful. This way, when adventure calls your name you'll be ready for the challenge.
