Flying out to photograph an incredible wedding day for these two this weekend! Excited to be celebrating a spectacular new local venue tomorrow night!! is soo beautiful! Think European gardens in southern California! I’m bringing Jake along too! It’s wonderful to be a wedding photographer when you can double an industry event as a date! 🥂👌🏼😏

You know the saying that when one sense is dulled, the others are heightened?

That is the only way I can explain the recent allure of blurry photos. That somehow when you can’t see the subjects as clearly, you can feel their emotions more powerfully.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the timelessness and reflectiveness of crisp, clear photos — but this romantic, out of focus shot in the the middle of the almond orchards feels like it holds an extra shot of feelings to me —

More than ever, I feel like I am getting to artistically craft the portraits I want for my clients. Like the canvas in my head that I can cover with a beautiful painting, I can finally fully create and capture through my lens. I am so grateful for my clients who trust me (even in the pouring rain!) and for the people who appreciate and want to see themselves through my lens. It’s been especially special recently and I am so grateful.

I think we should first acknowledge that clearly you are making great life choices by swooping up this special gal of yours! I hope you are enjoying your promotion to fiancé and finding every opportunity to celebrate with the incredible woman that has whole- heartedly agreed to be your wife!

It’s so fun seeing your unique personalities and parts of your love story come through in your details & the fabulous way you plan your day! What is your favorite wedding detail that you had or that you are looking forward to having as part of your day?

Mine was the hand-painted canvas table numbers we had everyone at their table sign & the walnut toffee my sister and I made and packaged as favors for our guests. (Jake and I are both artists and we got married in a walnut orchard so it fit — us 🤍)

Hey guys!! A new year seemed like a good reason to check in and say hi!! January is normally my “off season”, but this is the busiest off season I’ve ever had! I thoroughly enjoyed this months rain but hope everyone stayed safe and cozy through it all. But all this rain means California will actually be green for a little while!! Planning fresh, green spring sessions soon and soft, white, bloom-filled sessions in the Bakersfield almond groves in a few short weeks! If you’re interested in either, DM me now! They are both stunning seasons that don’t stick around too long!
