Your Weekly Art Drop for June 15 is here!

This week features 20 original pieces from 20 talented South Carolina artists — Forrest Fortier, Pamela Faber-Greaves, Ann Dowling, Aquabun, Gregory Mobley, Anne Westley, Charles Hite, Beverly Anderson, Becky Ratz, Janice Phillips, Johna and Don Esterberg, Linda King, Norma Young, R. Joyce Moran, Michelle Taylor, Sumter Bee Company, Pam Padgett, Pam Anschuetz, JS Watts, and Debi Kelly.

Prices range from $10 to $420 — fine art paintings, pen-and-ink illustration, pine needle basketry, a painted wood fish sculpture, rustic wood home decor, handmade soaps, herbal teas, feather bow ties, and a beeswax candle celebrating America's 250th. Something for every taste and every budget. Daily features roll out Tuesday through Saturday with a closer look at each day's four pieces.

Every purchase, large or small, helps sustain creativity, encourages dreams, and strengthens our local community. Your support allows nearly 75 creatives to continue sharing their passion and handcrafted work with Camden and beyond.

We'd like you to meet Jo Marie Brown — Camden native, founder of JMB Photography, and one of our most distinctive artists.

Jo Marie returned home to Camden four years ago with her husband Eric and daughter Hannah, bringing with her a career built on capturing what lasts. She's a three-time Best Photographer award winner — recognized by The State Newspaper in 2022, 2023, and 2024, and by the Lexington Chronicle in 2023.

Her work at Camden Art Shoppes reflects her deepest loves: the light on a South Carolina marsh at sunset, the formal beauty of a historic Southern garden, orchids on a white-columned porch, grand antebellum homes under summer skies — and history. Jo Marie has a particular passion for the American Revolution, and her pieces documenting the April 2023 reinterment of 14 Revolutionary War soldiers — excavated from shallow graves at the Camden Battlefield and ceremonially reburied with full military honors — are among the most quietly powerful works in the shop.

Her signature technique converts her photography into layered acrylic paintings — two mediums, one beautiful result.
