From my archives - a drive along the northern part of CA on Hwy 1, just before the Oregon border. It was a morning drive as the clouds were rising up in the valleys. I loved the light on this.

The beauty of Crater Lake NP, Oregon. Formed as a result of a volcano - the rim rises to 8000’ and the lake filled crater is 5x6 miles wide. It is the deepest lake in the USA and is feed only by melting snow and rain, which makes it one of the purest lakes.

England, an old bridge house.

The old (300 years) Bridge House over Stock Beck (the river). Two rooms, one up and one down - each only accessible from the staircase outside shown on the right. A bridge was constructed first, to allow access to land on the other side of the river, and the building itself was added in the 17th century as an apple store. This building is an icon in the Lake District.

The canals of Bruges (Brugge), Belgium and the canal tour boats. The city is very walkable and contains many bridges over the canals. This one is looking down a largely residential area.

View of a Danish built tower in Helsingborg, Sweden that is part of a fortress system that controlled the entrance into the Baltic Sea. Wonderful views and architecture with a fountain built into the lower entrance and a wonderful park in the back. The other photo features architectural views down the street (Stortorget) to the North Sea. The Helsingborg City Hall with its red brick siding, clock tower and decorative spires and pointed arches is a site to behold.

Riddarholmen Church is located on the island of Riddarholmen, close to the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Sweden. The church serves as the final resting place of most Swedish monarchs. It is one of the oldest buildings in Stockholm, parts of it dating to the late-13th century, when it was built as a Greyfriars monastery. The present cast-iron spire was installed in 1835 and visually is one of the highest in Stockholm. Today the church is used only for burial and commemorative purposes.

"Family lifts family" is a powerful bronze sculpture in Copenhagen, created by Danish artist Svend Wiig Hansen as a memorial to Culture Minister Julius Bomholt, symbolizing the continuity and nurturing of generations. The sculpture is monumental and highly expressive. It depicts a muscular man and woman, cooperatively lifting another woman. The lifted woman holds a child on her feet, representing the future generation. The physical act of lifting symbolizes care, continuity, and the nurturing role of family and society in supporting each succeeding generation.
