We got lucky with one night of clear skies and the Aurora firing! The big challenge was the 50-70mph wind gusts throwing vibrations through the tripod and trying to blow over the full kit! These light displays never cease to amaze me!

Icelandic horses are quite the characters and love the human attention. We had some fun shooting these majestic creatures while running around the south coast.

Still get immense joy looking at images from these times hanging and shooting adventure athletes. They are a different breed with an infectious influence of positivity and an “anything is possible” attitude that rubbed off on my photography….

Have a little pull towards this place over the last few weeks. Might be time to pack up the truck, camera gear, Charlie and company for amazing views and some peace in these hills!

Feels like lifetimes ago when I spent almost every weekend in this water shriveling up like a prune due to how much time I was immersed in it. Spending time shooting and his band of amazing coaches weekend after weekend was an amazing way to craft my photography and will forever have fond memories of these times…hence when this photo I took from back then popped up on my memories I had to share!

A week in Joshua Tree and the creativity came back to the surface! I’ve spent more time away from home than in it this summer and is what the doctor ordered. After being mainly stationary around Truckee the past year due to the pandemic and just wanting to explore the back yard, it’s been amazing to spend time on the coast and in the desert spending time with friends I haven’t seen in a long time! Life’s good! Oh, and film is far from dead 😜

It’s been a while since posting, being creative during a pandemic felt far more difficult than normal but feeling the pull toward travel, road trips and shooting action sports again. For now, this old pic of Big Sur made me smile! I’m super happy to have spent a ton of time here over the years before it became overwhelmed by people and dispersed camping started to shut down. I have a lot of amazing memories from here!

The snow is melting, tomorrow is the first MTB ride of the season (ok, had to drop down a few thousand feet of altitude to make it happen), the temps are warming up and no snow forecasted for the next 2 weeks. Something tells me it’s getting close to 6:30am lake swims, paddleboarding, bouldering and a lot of biking is on the horizon!

Decided to play around on this day shooting and knowing we would be shooting into midday sun. Took a small reflector with me and used the sun as a continuous strobe. Some whacky looking images but enjoyed the experimentation!
