Proof that a little "spring" blizzard can’t stop the magic!

A huge thank you to the incredible families who braved the snow (and then hailstorm) this past weekend to capture these bloom sessions! Spring blossoms are easily my favorite part of the year. I am already counting down the years until my own flowering cherry trees are big enough for sessions like these, but for now, I’m soaking up every bit of this seasonal beauty here at Highland Park.

There is something so special about the age two. It’s the curiosity, the dirt on the knees, and the way they find wonder in the smallest things—like a patch of wildflowers for Mom or a game of peek-a-boo.

But my favorite moment? Watching him confidently take the wheel of a tractor... even though there was no wheel to be found. Nothing stops this birthday boy!

October may be long gone, but this "threenager" energy is forever. Looking back at this outdoor fall painting session and honestly? The sass was just as vibrant as the colors.

Between the messy masterpiece-making and the giggles, there was that unmistakable 3-year-old sparkle ("I’ll paint where I want, what I want, thanks!"). It’s sessions like these that remind me why I love what I do—capturing the raw, unfiltered, and at times hilariously bossy moments of childhood.

There is something so magical about documenting a family in their natural element. For this sweet family, that meant an afternoon filled with cozy playroom snuggles, a little bit of living room wrestling, and a lot of laughter.

The highlight? Making a fresh batch of popcorn! Watching the little ones’ eyes light up as it started to pop was the absolute sweetest. It wasn’t about "perfect" poses; it was about the messy, beautiful, authentic love that lives within these four walls.

Experience the quiet magic of simple farm living. We will be lounging on a picnic blanket with a snack spread in front of the rustic barn, utilizing a big orange tractor, and capturing smiles in front of the pond. These sessions are about capturing your family’s authentic connection.

Does your crew love to fish? Bring your gear! We’ll capture those quiet moments casting into the water (the pond is stocked with sun fish and blue gill).

May 17th, additional dates will be added later this summer as well.
