Three years of this tradition.
Same little girls, a few new faces, a little taller every year.
Watching their friendships grow has become one of my favorite things to document.

One thing I’ve noticed lately is that more families are choosing to keep their children private online, and I completely respect that.

Before every session, I send a questionnaire asking what each family is comfortable sharing — including whether faces can be shown at all.

There’s still something so beautiful about documenting the tiny details and fleeting moments of this season without needing to show everything.

Let’s bust a myth: lifestyle photography isn’t about perfect poses.

It’s about connection. The cuddles, the giggles, the chaos, and all the little moments that make your family yours.

My job isn’t to make you perform for the camera—it’s to help you feel comfortable enough to simply be yourselves.

What’s your biggest fear when it comes to family photos?

I can feel my style evolving lately.

I’m finding myself so drawn to storytelling and documenting the in-between moments instead of chasing perfection.

Photographing my girls in a tiny city sink, with warm evening light pouring through the windows, somehow feels more meaningful to me than anything overly posed ever could.

These little everyday memories honestly mean the most to me — and creating images like this for other families is something I’d love to do more of.

That first birthday milestone is such a special one 🤍 and cake smashes are such a fun way to celebrate your little one’s personality during this season of life.

One thing I always remind parents is that every baby reacts differently during their session — and that’s perfectly okay.
Some babies come in smiling and ready to dive right into the cake while others need a few minutes to warm up, stay close to mom at first, or just take things slowly. All of it is normal.

I always recommend moms wear something that coordinates with their little one’s outfit just in case they need to step in for some cuddles or reassurance. Those moments are often some of my favorites anyway.

And let’s talk about the cake 😂
Some babies smash right in while others are totally unsure about the frosting or texture at first.
A great tip is letting your little one try frosting, whipped cream, or a cupcake before the session so the texture isn’t a complete surprise on cake smash day.

At the end of the day, these sessions are meant to be fun, relaxed, and full of personality. Whether they dive face first into the cake or want extra snuggles from mom, it’s all adorable and worth documenting exactly as they are in this season of life 🤍

Last Mother’s Day, we were waiting for you. This year, we tried recreating the photo with both girls - Willa was overtired, Hayden didn’t want to do it and I was flustered trying to show my husband how to use my camera. It was chaotic, emotional, imperfect, and very real.

This is motherhood.
