This is a hill I will die on:

The wedding experience should not end with an email that says, “Thanks for choosing me. Here’s your gallery.”

Tonight, Charity and Max came to the studio for their wedding album design appointment. Together, we designed a stunning 10” heirloom wedding album with 76 photographs from their wedding day.

And as I sat across from them, watching them relive their day, laugh at moments they had forgotten, and tell stories behind the images, I was reminded why I will never be a gallery-only photographer.

Because the album appointment isn’t a sales appointment.

It’s the final chapter of the wedding experience.

Think about it. Couples spend months planning their wedding. They celebrate with their favorite people. They receive their gallery. Life gets busy. Work, kids, houses, responsibilities. Before they know it, years have passed and those images are still sitting on a hard drive.

An album changes that.

It gives couples one final opportunity to sit together and revisit the day they promised forever.

More importantly, it creates something that will outlive every technology we currently use.

Why wedding albums matter:

• Your wedding photographs deserve to exist somewhere other than a phone or computer.

• Marriage has hard seasons. An album becomes a tangible reminder of where it all started and why they chose each other in the first place.

• Future children and grandchildren will never scroll through a forgotten hard drive. They will flip through an album.

• Printed photographs become part of a family’s story and legacy instead of digital files waiting to be organized “someday.”

• The album design appointment gives couples one last intentional date night centered around their wedding memories.

Photographers, if you’re ending the experience at gallery delivery, you’re stopping short of the most meaningful part of what we do.

We aren’t just delivering photographs.

We’re helping preserve family history.

And tonight, Charity and Max left with more than an album design.

They left having relived one of the best days of their lives together all over again.

That’s a much better ending than

There’s a version of love that shows up quietly. Not performative, not for an audience. Just two people who have made it their job to make the other one’s day a little better.

That’s Lexi and Kenan.

We spent their engagement session wandering through Zoar Garden as the light went gold, and I don’t think either of them noticed the camera half the time. She’s cracking up mid hug. He’s kissing her forehead like it’s a habit he’s had for years. That kind of ease can’t be directed, it just is what it is when two people genuinely like each other.

This fall, they’re saying “I do” at Bella Amore at Enchanted Acres, then throwing the party of the year: a Halloween masquerade ball with Beauty and the Beast woven through every detail. Somehow that fits them perfectly. Underneath the mystery and drama of it all, this is a couple building something soft and real together.

Can’t wait for October!!! 🌹

Prom dates. Long distance college sweethearts. And now, husband and wife.

Some love stories don’t need a dramatic twist. They just need two people who kept choosing each other, and a day that finally said this is it.

Jarod and Gracie’s wedding was everything a wedding should be. A quiet first look in the courtyard before the world caught up with them. Portraits along the Cuyahoga with downtown Cleveland as the backdrop. A ceremony overlooking the city, with a sermon so personal it could only have come from family. A Father of the Bride toast that had the whole room feeling it. And a band that made sure nobody sat down for long.

This day was loud with joy and full of the people who showed up for them from the beginning.

Wedding one of two that weekend, and what a way to open.

It was an honor, Gracie and Jarod.

12 years ago, I first met Charlotte.

I was a first year teacher trying to find my footing teaching juniors and seniors. She was one of my juniors in my Pop Culture class.

Over a decade later, Charlotte becomes a momma to a sweet little baby boy. As she and Kyle entered their new season of life, she reached out asking if I would take family photos for her.

Of course I said yes!!

Thank you, Charlotte and Kyle, for trusting me to capture this new season of life for your family!

Also … this greenhouse...I’m OBSESSED with everything about it!!! The light filtering through the windows, the contrast with the black frames, the added greenery.

Every pearl on Lexi’s necklace was placed there intentionally by her Mom. One for every milestone. By her wedding day, it held an entire childhood around her neck.

Her grandmother’s rosary was wrapped around her bouquet. The flowers in that bouquet came from each of her bridesmaids. And the ballroom where she and Austin danced for the first time as husband and wife? The same one her parents closed down on their wedding night thirty years ago.

Austin’s guys have been in his corner since college football. Lexi’s girls have known her since before she knew herself. The reception felt like a reunion for everyone who shaped these two people, and honestly, it showed.

Plenty of tears. Even more laughs. And somewhere in the middle of it all, two people who met at Miami got married surrounded by every single person and memory that brought them to that moment.

Lexi and Austin, it was an honor to be in the room.

2021 ✨2023 ✨ 2024 ✨ 2026

And there are earlier sessions missing from that list not included in their family gallery.

The Hershbergers keep coming back, and every time they do, the kids are a little taller, the family a little more complete, and somehow it still feels exactly like them.

That’s the thing about families that let you in year after year. You stop being their photographer and start being a small thread in the story they’re writing together.

Thank you, Hershbergers. It’s one of my ufavorite things, getting to watch your family grow. 🤍

They met at the gym. She was bold and didn’t try to be anything else. He was steady and had her back from the start.

A few years later, here we are.

Emma grew up coming to this farm.

Her grandparents’ land, tucked into the Northeast Ohio hills with a pond that reflects everything and an old red barn that’s been standing longer than most of us have been around.

She has years of memories here before Zach ever entered the picture.

Now he’s in all the new ones.

We ran around this property for hours and what I kept noticing was how much they just liked being together. Not performing it, just living it. Spinning her in the field. Sitting on the old equipment by the water. Running through the grass laughing like nobody was watching, even though I absolutely was.

Next June they get married on this same land. Same hills, same barn, same pond. Different chapter.

I already know it’s going to be something. 🫶🏼

Corynn and Jack’s people have known them since the dorm room days, and it showed.

Inside jokes, happy tears, the kind of belly laughs that make your mascara run before you even make it to the aisle. From the moment I walked into Parker Barn, it was impossible not to feel it. A stranger could have wandered in off the farm and known instantly that something really good was happening here.

And that setting. Parker Barn in Copley sits on over 80 acres of working farmland. Cows, horses, donkeys, sheep, and somewhere in the distance, the kind of sunset that makes you stop and just breathe for a second. That wooden arch backdropped by the pond, surrounded by the people who have loved these two the longest, it was a lot.

Corynn in that tiered white dress. Jack in hunter green. The whole bridal party radiating “we have been waiting for this day.”

When they walked back down that aisle, arms raised, confetti flying, the whole place erupted. Because that’s what happens when the right two people finally make it official in front of everyone who knew it first.

Corynn and Jack, thank you for letting me tell this one.

She said yes to a wedding. Then she said yes to forever. And then she said yes to a baby boy. 🤍

Maria + Kyle, I had the honor of photographing their wedding last June and now, just weeks away from meeting their little one, they trusted me to capture this season too. That kind of trust means everything.

When Maria reached out asking about maternity photos, I may have used it as an excuse to debut my brand new greenhouse. She said yes immediately, and I’m so glad she did.

We spent the evening taking pretty photos, soaking in that golden hour light, and talking all things birth. One of my absolute favorite topics. Advocating for a mother-centered birth experience is something close to my heart, and getting to pour into mamas during this season is such a gift.

Oh, and Baby Schucker is already at the center of a serious jersey debate. Pirates vs. Cleveland. Kyle vs. Maria. Thankfully it’s NL vs. AL! Can we hope for a World Series match up someday?? ⚾

Swipe to the end to see Kyle and Baby Boy’s first turkey “encounter” on the homestead. 🦃 Dad is ready. The turkeys are nosey. It’s perfect.

Congratulations, you two. Can’t wait to meet him. 🤍
