This is a bank. Built in 1900. In Bucharest. Still operating today.

CEC Palace. 3 glass domes. 1 ton of marble per square meter. Zero tourists inside because it's not a museum - people actually cash checks under that ceiling.

The architect gave up halfway. His student finished it. Then they both argued who deserved credit. 124 years later, tourists still argue which dome is prettier.

You walk in to deposit $20. You leave feeling like you robbed the Bank of Versailles.

Built when banks wanted to look like they could protect your gold from armies. Now they protect it from 2% interest rates.
