What if dragons weren't fantasy?
What if they were science fiction?
Reign of Fire imagines a post-apocalyptic world where dragons aren't magical creatures. They're part of the natural world, explained through biology and evolution, That's what makes the film so fascinating to revisit.
One of the great strengths of speculative fiction is that audiences will accept almost any premise if the world is built with consistency and conviction. Whether you're writing science fiction or fantasy, the challenge is the same: create a world that feels believable and populate it with characters worth following.
My upcoming novel Dragonborne explores a similar idea: dragons as part of our physical reality and timeline rather than purely mythical creatures.
