Hi, I’m Alisha , the heart behind Be Still Photography.
Photography has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I was always picking up whatever camera I could find, capturing tiny moments that felt important to me even then. At 26, I finally got my first “official” camera, and from that moment on, my love for photography truly grew into something deeper. Since then, I’ve spent years practicing, learning, trialing, and growing…discovering the beauty hidden in genuine smiles, fleeting seasons of life, and the moments we often don’t realize will someday mean everything.
One of my greatest joys is photographing families and preserving the memories they’ll look back on for years to come. Life moves quickly, children grow, seasons change, and photographs become the pieces we hold onto when time keeps moving forward. Some of my favorite images to capture are of my own children in every stage of their lives. The messy, beautiful, ordinary moments that become treasured memories later.
The name Be Still comes from a verse that has carried me through many seasons of my life: Exodus 14:14 — “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” That verse has been a reminder to me that even in uncertainty, hardship, or waiting, God is present and fighting for me. “Be Still” became more than a business name . It became part of my heart and the way I want people to feel when they step in front of my camera: present, peaceful, and able to pause in the middle of life’s chaos.
Photography for me has not always been a straight path. Because of ongoing surgeries and recovery connected to a connective tissue disorder, there are seasons where I need to step back and heal. Those pauses have taught me to appreciate this journey even more and to never take the opportunity to capture someone’s memories for granted. I am deeply grateful for every client who has shown grace, patience, kindness, and encouragement as I continue to grow both personally and creatively.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in a session, whether it’s capturing your senior, your children, or your larger family. It would be an honor to help preserve the moments you’ll one day look back on and cherish for years to come. 🤍
