Eeeek! I’m back and jumping right in.

Two quick updates for you today.

First, I’m back in the office this week. So if you are waiting on an email reply from me, you should hear back today.

Second, wildflower mini session booking goes out tomorrow, Tuesday, at 7 PM.

These are always some of my favorite sessions of the year. So keep an eye on your inbox if you want a spot.

One of the most common questions I get from expecting parents is this:

“How do we schedule newborn photos if we don’t know when the baby will arrive?”

And honestly, this is such a good question.

The short answer is this: I don’t schedule the exact session date until after your baby is born.

Instead, you book your spot on my calendar ahead of time. Then, once baby arrives, you send me a quick email. From there, I send you available dates and we pick the best one.

Because babies do not care about due dates. Or induction dates. Or our carefully planned calendars.

This system gives your baby time to arrive safely. It also gives you more options once baby is here.

I wrote a new post explaining exactly how this works, when to reach out, and why booking early still matters.

Wildflower sessions are coming back, and I am already counting down.

There is just something about kids running through flowers, golden summer light, and families getting to be a little more relaxed.

This year, I’ll have a few wildflower location options around the Indianapolis area, and I can’t wait to share more soon.

Just a heads up - I’ll be traveling until June 6th and will have limited access to email while I’m away.

I’ll be making memories with my kiddos and my in-laws in Chicago. I’m excited for a little family time, a change of scenery, and hopefully some fun city adventures.

Spring minis always feel like the start of something good.

After a long winter, it is the best seeing families back outside again. Kids running. Parents snuggling. Flowers blooming. Everyone just happy to be in the sunshine.

It is such a sweet way to kick off my outdoor season.

Next up are Creek Side Minis. Then I will be releasing Flower Farm Minis next week.

I hope I get to photograph your family this year. It really is the best watching your kids grow, season after season.

I hope everyone is surviving May-cember.

And if you do not know what that is, you probably do not have school-aged kids yet.

May-cember is that wild last month of school when every extra thing happens at once. Concerts. Shows. Teacher gifts. Dress-up days. Closing ceremonies. Awards. Field days. Spirit days. All the things.

It is fun. It is sweet. And also, it is a lot.

My kiddos are officially out of school, and honestly, I am feeling pretty good about it. Bring on slower mornings, summer nights, creek sessions, flower fields, and all the chaos that comes with kids being home.

For my summer family session families, I sent out location info last week. So, let’s get dates on the calendar and start planning.

I am ready for all things summer.

What I wish every family knew before choosing outfits for newborn pictures.

1 - Neutral colors keep your eyes on the baby, not dad’s bright blue polo.

2 - Barefoot toddlers always look cute. Always.

3 - Trust me on this one... off-the-shoulder dresses for mom are basically magic for newborn sessions.

4 - Cream, oatmeal, ivory, and tan are the colors to wear. Basically dress like a cozy latte.

5 - Before you buy newborn clothes, know that I already have perfectly styled newborn outfits in the studio.
