Well, this is a post we really didn’t think we’d be making.
RIP to our grey velvet couch. Gone too soon, and unfortunately, not by natural causes. 🕊️
In all seriousness, one of our favorite pieces of studio furniture was recently damaged beyond repair. We’re talking broken wood, bent metal framing, and damage so extensive that we had no choice but to say goodbye to it.
And the hardest part? Nobody reported it.
If you’ve ever shot at Black & Light, you know how much care goes into this space. From the furniture and backdrops to the smallest props, so much of what you see here has been personally sourced, styled, built, or thoughtfully chosen with photographers in mind.
We LOVE seeing you move things around, try different setups, and get creative. That’s literally why this studio exists!
But we do ask that you treat everything with the same care you would your own equipment.
Please be mindful when using furniture, use the provided dollies when moving heavier pieces, and most importantly, LET US KNOW if something gets damaged.
Accidents can happen, but damage needs to be reported, and our studio damage policy will be enforced.
To the many photographers and creatives who consistently leave the studio looking just as beautiful as they found it — THANK YOU. We see you, and we appreciate you more than you know. 🤍
And to our beloved grey couch… thank you for your service. You will be missed. 🕊️
