I don’t have unfinished projects. I pick a hobby, research it like I’m writing a dissertation, buy the correct supplies, become suspiciously competent, finish the project, and then apparently decide I need a completely different skill set.

As many of you have recently learned, we use cloth diapers with Marshall!

I think cloth diapers are much easier and simpler than people often give them credit for, including me before we started. I think many people picture complicated folding techniques, pins, and difficulty containing the mess.

Fast forward to modern day, there are so many styles available (all-in-ones, all-in-twos, fitteds, and pockets). I have my favorites, my husband has his favorites, and our caregivers have favorites too!

If you’re cloth-curious, considering trying a few, or want advice on where to start, I’d love to connect and share what has worked for us. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things to talk about!

A first for me, as I pulled this little one out of the incubator!

This is the first deformed chick I have personally ever hatched. It is missing an eye and has a severe crossbeak

The exact cause is unknown; however, more than likely something went wrong during incubation. I cull chicks like this from my program to avoid running into genetic deformities.

It was just too interesting to not share!

Update on Kitty

As her second feline leukemia screening came back positive within 3 minutes of the recommended 10-minute wait, it became increasingly clear that she is definitely a carrier of FeLV. We are so thankful to have found a good indoor home with another FeLV-positive kitty.

Sending a HUGE thanks to GAIN Michigan and Cannonsville Critters for the roles they play in our area- helping us have affordable access to spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and educating the public on conditions like this. They were both a huge part of Kitty’s little journey with us!

Her new family has named her Muffin 💜🧁
