Watching the Moon rise from summit was one of the coolest things I’ve ever experienced! 🌕

We watched the sunset, then waited about 45 minutes to an hour after when the stars started to really pop. I was trying to get some shots of the stars and the Milky Way but the wind was violently shaking my tripod so none of my long exposures turned out clear. While I was fussing with that, off to my left, the moon started to rise above the clouds. It started off bright orange, then faded to more of a yellowish / white. Here are a few captures from that night, did the best I could with the wind situation - even included an iPhone shot or two at the end as the colors were a bit more vibrant 💨☺️

📍 Sunset Above the Clouds | Haleakala Summit, Maui, HI 🌅

📸 Standing at just over 10,000 feet above sea level, Haleakala (“house of the sun”) is a must see when visiting Maui. You can be in a swimming suit on the beach in the morning and bundled up in winter gear on top of a dormant volcano by evening 🌋 One of the coolest (and windiest) sunsets I’ve ever experienced!
