{Holiday Sessions}
I have been getting so many emails so here we go!
Every year society rushes through the holidays a little faster. I've come to really struggle with this because I know I'm part of the problem...setting up holiday sessions at the end of summer! But..I am only one person and over the last 14 years my business has grown so much more than I ever dreamed~that if I don't start early, there's physically no way I could fit everyone in before Christmas!
Year after year I have created Holiday sessions that I hope have felt authentic and immersive, that's been my goal.
I hope you all know that as much as I have become part of your holiday tradition, you have become part of mine.
There are a few things I'm going to be doing differently this season, which I will be sharing more about in upcoming posts.
This year's cabin is an extension of an older one.
It's built entirely from the boards of an old barn. Boards that have already lived another life..that once made up the walls of something someone built to shelter the things they cared about.
I love that.
Because this fall, those old boards will shelter something new.
Families. Kids who are growing faster than we can keep up with. Grandparents. Traditions. Noise and laughter.
Nothing perfect.
Gather your loved ones.
Please keep it simple. Even more this year I am leaning into low light, grain, texture and all the little imperfect things that make a photo feel real. More mood, more feeling. Dress warm!! Drink c***r on your way over. Laugh at and with each other. Do not stress! Just come as you are and let me do the rest.
As a mom I can say it all went much too fast.
Now as a Granny (of 3 with another on the way!), this is what I want to give you~ a little piece of what I wish I had understood then.
