CLOSING MESSAGE FROM THE OWNER (Feb 2, 2022)
In March of 2002, Access Video & Photo Services was a tiny company working out of a small old house on Nueces Street near the UT campus in Austin, TX. It offered old-school analog video editing and VHS tape duplication services. The owner at the time did not want to make the jump into the digital world and sold the business to me. As an engineer who loves Austin, with fond memories of my time at UT in the 1970s, it was great to be able operate a small technology-oriented company at such an exciting time in Austin. I could not have done it without the help of my wonderful wife Donna. As Austin grew and rents became expensive, we moved progressively further from central Austin, eventually to Cedar Park. Our customers, however, always remained awesome. Over the years, we worked with more than 4,000 unique customers, from big state agencies to families and small video producers hoping to make it big. While the big contracts were nice to have, many of the smaller customers were what made the work enjoyable. Many became friends over the years. So it is with both sadness and excitement that I am retiring. We thank everyone we worked with over the years.
