With the next few months being busy with rodeos I thought I’d share a little about the name behind Shoot the Gap Productions.
If you don’t know, “the gap” refers to the space between the bullrider and the bull once the rider comes off. If warranted, it is the bullfighters job to put themselves in that space to protect the bullrider at all costs, therefore “shooting the gap”.
Growing up with and around them, bullfighters are who I spend most of my time with in rodeo. They are truly the unsung heroes of the sport and I try to make sure they get all the recognition they deserve. I believe a true bull fighter should be honorable and respectable, qualities I want my company to exhibit.
I love photographing portraits and other parts of agriculture, but bullfighters will always be at the heart of Shoot the Gap.
I’ve got 8 rodeos on the calendar between now and the end of 2026. Bullfighters, tag your buddies so I can get more of y’all in front of my camera!
