Some people don’t need help looking confident.

They need help showing who they already are.

Paula is one of those people.

She’s a health and wellness coach, but more than that—she’s genuinely joyful. The kind of person who walks into a room and lifts it. That kind of energy can’t be faked… and it definitely shouldn’t be lost in a headshot.

Our goal wasn’t to “create” anything.

It was to capture what’s already there:
– that mega-watt smile
– the spark in her eyes
– the warmth that makes people trust her instantly

Because for someone building a business around helping others feel better, authenticity isn’t optional—it’s the whole brand.

This is what a real headshot should do.

Not just make you look good…
…but make people feel like they already know you.

That’s what opens doors.

Most attorneys don’t struggle with competence. They struggle with perception.

Ben is an immigration attorney stepping into a new chapter in his career—where first impressions matter before a single word is spoken. Online, on a firm website, or across a conference table, your image sets the tone.

He needed something that communicated two things at once: confidence and approachability. Not easy to balance—but critical in his field.

This is the result.

What you’re seeing isn’t just a polished headshot. It’s the outcome of a process designed to draw out the right expression, remove the guesswork, and make sure the final image aligns with how Ben shows up professionally.

His words say it best:“Kevin made the entire process easy, comfortable, and natural… and delivered a headshot that perfectly captures both confidence and approachability.”

That’s the goal every time—an image that works as hard as you do.

If your current headshot isn’t doing that, it’s probably costing you more than you think.

An old friend from more than thirty years ago, Joe walked into my studio needing something very different—an image that would stand up in a room full of professionals.

He had a conference coming up and needed it done fast. No time for overthinking. No time for guesswork.

We got right to work.

This is where the process matters. Real-time feedback, precise lighting, and expression coaching all come together to create something intentional—not just a “nice photo,” but a polished professional presence.

The result? An image that looks like he belongs in the room before he even walks into it.

That’s the difference.

Fast is good.Fast and done right—that’s what actually moves the needle.

Some people walk into the studio and you can tell immediately what they do for a living.

Lauren was one of those people.

Relaxed. Present. Easy to talk to. The kind of person who builds trust in the first five minutes without even trying. Not surprising when you learn she’s a sales leader. Communication and connection are literally her job.

But here’s the thing most people miss about great headshots…
It’s not just the smile.

It’s tone. Depth. Presence.

This image works because of those deep, rich, high-dynamic tones. The dark background, the clean highlights, the separation in her hair and jacket, the crisp catchlights. Everything comes together to create contrast and dimension that pulls you straight into her eyes.

Confident. Approachable. Credible.

That’s exactly what a strong sales professional needs their image to say before they ever open their mouth.

A headshot shouldn’t just show what you look like.It should communicate who you are and why someone should trust you.

Lauren nailed it.

If you’re leading teams, meeting clients, or representing your company at a high level, your photo should work just as hard as you do.

Twenty years of marriage deserves more than a passing mention—and honestly, it deserves reflection.

I’m a little late putting these words down, but not late in celebrating what matters most: twenty years married to a wonderful woman - my darling wife Adrienne.

The timing of the post may be off, but the gratitude is right on schedule.
Marriage doesn’t last two decades by accident. It lasts because of daily faithfulness, patience when it would be easier to check out, and a shared commitment to something bigger than ourselves. We’ve navigated seasons of joy, seasons of stress, and plenty of ordinary days in between—and those ordinary days add up to a life I wouldn’t trade.

I’m deeply thankful for a wife who is steady, wise, encouraging, and grounded. She sharpens me, supports me, and walks alongside me with grace. She manages our home and most importantly runs point with our two boys. That kind of partnership is rare, and I don’t take it lightly.

Here’s to twenty years of the covenant with God we made in marriage, a truly deep friendship, and shared purpose—and to continuing the work, the laughter, and the faithfulness that got us here.

This image is a snapshot of what I believe great portraiture still looks like in 2025.

Not trends. Not gimmicks. Not whatever the latest AI filter says is “in.”

Just strong, intentional portraits of real people.

Every image in this mashup represents the same goal I bring into every session: help someone look like the best, most confident, most credible version of themselves—without losing who they actually are. That balance matters. Too polished and you look artificial. Too casual and you look unprepared. Get it right, and people trust you before you ever speak a word.

What you’re seeing here is range on purpose:• Executives who need authority• Professionals who need approachability• Creatives who want edge• Leaders who must project calm confidence• Individuals who simply want to be seen accurately

Lighting, expression, posture, micro-adjustments—none of this is accidental. I still believe in slowing down, coaching people through the process, and crafting an image instead of “grabbing a shot.” That approach hasn’t gone out of style, and it never will.

If 2025 reinforced anything for me, it’s this:Your image still speaks before you do.And it needs to speak clearly.

Grateful for the trust so many clients placed in me this year. I’m already pushing harder, refining more, and raising the bar again for what’s coming next.

This is a great example of why tone matters more than trends.

Sarah’s headshot lives in a wide dynamic range, and that’s not an accident. Look closely and you’ll see deep, rich shadow detail that gives the image weight and authority, balanced by clean highlights that keep her expression open, warm, and approachable. Nothing is clipped. Nothing is muddy. Every tone has room to breathe.

That range is what makes this image feel dimensional instead of flat. Her skin tones stay natural. The background supports her without competing. The darker values add confidence and presence, while the lighter tones draw you straight to her eyes and smile. It’s professional without being stiff, polished without feeling over-processed.

This is the difference between “good lighting” and intentional lighting. High dynamic range, when done right, doesn’t scream HDR. It simply feels real, flattering, and timeless.

Sarah now has a headshot that will work just as well on LinkedIn as it will on a firm website or speaking bio—and it will still look right years from now.

That’s the goal every time.

A financial planner who understands the power of a strong image.

Jing came in wanting photos that could do more than just look professional — she wanted images that reflected the many sides of what she does: confident and credible for her firm, approachable and friendly for clients, and a little more relaxed for speaking engagements and personal branding.

We built a versatile collection that she can use everywhere — from her website and LinkedIn to her firm’s marketing materials. Each one shows the same thing: trust, warmth, and professionalism.

That’s what I love most about sessions like this — helping people show up authentically in every part of their professional world.

In today’s world, your professional image has to do more than just look good—it has to work for you across every role you play.

Carla balances two demanding credentials: her career as a medical doctor and her role as a business development professional. Both require credibility, trust, and a presence that makes people feel confident in her leadership.

That’s why she invested in a headshot that reflects who she is today—polished, approachable, and ready for every opportunity that comes her way.

Your headshot is often the first impression you make, whether it’s with patients, clients, or colleagues. And when it truly reflects your professionalism, it can open doors that credentials alone can’t.

When a company is scaling rapidly, the leaders behind that growth need to project confidence, credibility, and approachability.

Grady, CFO of Freedom Technology Solutions Group, stepped into my 30 on 30 headshot session to update his image—and the results speak volumes. His company has grown to several hundred employees and is quickly becoming a major player in the government contracting space.

This headshot reflects his professionalism and authority, but also his accessibility as a leader. For clients, partners, and employees, that first impression matters. In today’s business environment, a strong image isn’t just about looking good—it’s a tool that supports growth and opens doors.

Grady’s new look aligns perfectly with where his company is headed.

👉 My next 30 on 30 session is on September 30th, with only a handful of spots available. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to update your professional image, this is it.
