I didn’t realize the gym had a "Bring 5 friends to sit on one bench" policy today.

It’s a Monday morning, I’m here to move some actual weight, and I’m watching a group of kids with the same haircut take turns doing one set of 10-pound curls between 15 minutes of texting and showing each other TikToks.

The weight room is a sanctuary of work, not a social lounge. If you’re traveling in a pack of 5, sharing one machine, and your main focus is your group chat you aren't training. You're just taking up space that a serious athlete needs.

I’m all for the younger generation getting into lifting, but leave the "Social Club" energy at the door. If you have time to film a vlog, you have time to get out of the way for someone who actually showed up to sweat.

Respect the iron. Respect the etiquette. Stop being a distractor and start being a lifter.
