Sometimes you have to go down two paths to find the one that brings them back together.

In 2014, Redhead Creative Media began with video production.

In 2021, Jennifer Horst Photography launched to focus on still imagery and portraits.

Over the past year, the work evolved. Documentary film returned. The Postpartum Project launched. Filmed interviews integrated with editorial portraiture. Still photography and film stopped being separate things.

The work needed to reunite under the name that could hold the full vision.

Jennifer Horst Photography is returning to Redhead Creative Media, where still + film storytelling, editorial photography, brand films, and documentary interviews live together, as they were always meant to.

Same founder. Same documentary heart. Same Chapel Hill studio. Fuller vision.

The studio's new home is https://www.facebook.com/RedheadCreativeMedia/

“There is no way that AI can capture what you’re able to do with your detailed methodology.👏👏👏”

Tim gets it.

When I was first learning about posing, I was taught one called, “The Power Pose.”

It’s a fantastic pose that my clients LOVE. It’s a huge confidence boost!

It can also feel really awkward. Mainly because when I was posing my earliest clients, I would get stuck in my own head trying to make it “perfect,” when what I really needed was to just settle into it myself. Right along with them.

The trick?

Hold it for two minutes.

It may seem silly, but there’s research confirming that the pose actually raises testosterone levels and gives you a boost of confidence (linked in comments below 👇).

Let’s try it together.

Take up space with a wide stance. Hands on hips. Shoulders back. Chin up.

Stare yourself down in the mirror. 👀 Or close your eyes and breathe.

Allow your natural smile to come to life. Remember how amazing you are. How much you’ve accomplished. And where you’re going.

Not where you were. The past is in the past.

We’re focused on where you’re GOING.

And this confidence boost? It’s going to help you get there.

Because when you physically embody confidence, your brain catches up. And that translates to every room you enter, every stage you command, every client call you take.

Want the strategic edge? It's not just what you say. It's how you carry yourself when you say it.
Try it before your next high-stakes moment (even if that’s getting the kids up on a Monday morning, like today 😬) .

Two minutes is all it takes. You'll feel ridiculous for 30 seconds (I usually get the giggles), but then you’ll feel the shift.

That's the power of owning your physical presence.

“I don't have time for a photoshoot. I'll have AI make my headshot."

I hear this often. And look, AI headshots have their place - they're quick, easy, and can work in a pinch.

But they don't compare to what a professional photographer can create.

"But don't you use AI in your business?"

Absolutely. AI is a powerful tool when used strategically.

I use Claude to refine my content, Evoto for background cleanup and initial skin retouching, and Photoshop for extending backdrops and smoothing wrinkles in clothing.

AI speeds up my technical workflows so I can focus on what matters most.

But here's what AI doesn't do:

❌ AI doesn't research my clients before their sessions or create custom mood boards.
❌ It doesn't design the studio setup or select wardrobe-to-background pairings.
❌ It doesn't compose the shot in camera or capture the moment.
❌ And it definitely doesn't apply the commercial-grade professional retouch I give every image.

Most importantly? AI can't create human connection. That's where the magic happens. 🏰🔑

When my clients are comfortable in the studio, you can see it. In how they relax. In how genuine their smiles are. In how the warmth reaches their eyes.
My clients tell me the people around them notice the difference.
That's something AI can't replicate. AI generates an idealized version of you (complete with bonus fingers 🙄), while I create imagery based on what you tell me you need.

I create imagery that:
✅ Makes people pause and take notice
✅ Positions you as the professional you are
✅ Shows the world the successful version of who you're becoming
✅ Becomes part of your family's visual legacy

Professional imagery isn't just about looking good today.

It's about telling your story for decades to come.

If you're ready to create imagery that reflects who you are and the stages you're stepping onto, connect with me. I'm here to help you shine.

Today's newsletter drops at 1 pm (both podcast + email), and I'd hate for you to miss it.

Topic: What happens when you invest in gorgeous brand imagery... and then never use it? Or worse, you don't even know HOW 😱 because you've got zero strategy.

I'm breaking down why this happens and how I help my clients make sure it doesn't happen to them.

Because beautiful photos sitting in a folder? They're not helping you grow your business. They're just expensive digital dust.

She was 16. Pregnant. And everyone had an opinion about it.

They never said “Congratulations.” Instead, it was shame, gossip. “We expected better from you.”

Her family. Her friends. Her teachers. Nearly everyone in her life shunned her.

But here’s what Lisbeth figured out: she could turn shame into resilience.

And that resilience? It made her who she is today.

And that’s exactly why I created the Postpartum Project.

Because your story, no matter if it happened at 16 or 46, whether it was smooth sailing or a shipwreck, it matters.

Not the Instagram highlight reel. The REAL story. The messy, complicated, “I can’t believe I’m saying this out loud” story.

When you share it? You give another mother permission to share hers, too.

You break the silence that’s been keeping us all small.

You take control of your narrative instead of letting society write it for you.

From just surviving to really thriving.

This is what transformation looks like.

Lisbeth became a mother at 16.

Her journey wasn’t easy, full of ups and downs and lessons learned.

But today? She’s living life to the fullest in what she calls her “main character energy.”

Your story, no matter when it began or how messy it’s been, deserves to be told.

Ready to share yours?

I just finished a Postpartum Project session with Nichole and it was all about self-advocacy. The company she worked for when she had her first child did NOT have maternity leave 🤯

WTF?!

So this is your cue to start advocating for yourself if you aren’t already doing it.

Thank you to for being a part of the Postpartum Project!
