Our next expressive arts workshop, EXPLORING WHOLENESS THROUGH THE ARTS, is happening in Sebastopol, California next month, June 19 - 21. 13 CE's!

We will be tending the fires of creativity through the making of tissue paper collages and journaling. It's more important now than ever to step beyond our everyday stresses to give ourselves the time and space for authentic self-reflection and creative expression.

After making the collages, spending a little time with them allows for a reflection of feelings, sensations and thoughts as emergent issues associated with the colors, forms, and sequential patterns in the collage's arise.

After viewing the collages individually, participants share their collages with the group and are encouraged to reflect on their meaning in relation to self, family, and culture, from the personal to the archetypal.

By the end of the weekend, our hope is that you return home with renewed inspiration, having discovered the ways in which intuition, imagination and beauty can influence your life.

The world has been so loud lately it’s deafening. Many of us need a peaceful space where we can slow down and connect with our creativity so we can restore our inner balance and ground into what fortifies us.

Creating tissue paper collages is a sensory-rich practice of tearing colorful tissue paper with your hands, and guided by intuition rather than linear thought, putting the collages together in a deeply instinctual way. This work helps to express things that are going on in one’s inner world that words can’t quite get to. It allows symbols and meaning to arise from the unconscious, as interior truths are revealed in the colors, shapes and textures of the paper.

Information about the collage weekend workshop in June and the 6-day retreat in October, both in Northern California, will be posted next week. CE’s will be offered for both.

This year’s Wholeness Through the Arts retreat in Sebastopol, California was incredibly powerful. Participants traveled from all corners of the country to attend. Everyone shared the fairytales they wrote from their own biographies, which is such an amazing way to reframe one’s life. Making tissue paper collages in the method we teach helped everyone attune to the hidden insights their unconscious has been carrying. So much was revealed for each person! Below are some images from the retreat.
