One of the proudest moments of my life was capturing this solar eclipse, but little did I know it wasn’t the photo itself that brought me the most joy. It was the challenge of countless preparation, research, and the overall thrill of the unknown. It was the last minute 10.5 hour drive on a sleepless Sunday night when I easily could’ve stayed home. It was the camaraderie of people from all walks of life and personally getting to hear their stories. Most importantly, it was the one small moment in time where everyone minimized their distractions, put the weight of the world aside, and gathered in unison to embrace the true beauty Earth has to offer. This photo means everything to me, and I hope one day this can inspire someone to chase that feeling that makes them feel alive. The greatest gift in life is life itself and some say the meaning of life is death, so why not live and maximize your life each and every day like it was your last?

I had to convince myself numerous times that I wasn’t insane, but after 48 hours of no sleep, countless obstacles with renting equipment, and anxiousness of bad weather, I’m proud to say it finally paid off and I can officially check photographing a full solar eclipse totality off my bucket list. And now I don’t have to live with 20 years of regret 🤣
