🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year we chose to honor Ebony and celebrate her victory over breast cancer.
Ebony is a firefighter. She runs toward danger for a living, so when she heard the words “Stage 3 breast cancer,” her first thought wasn’t “Why me?” It was “How do we fix this?”
Then she got to work. Five months of chemotherapy. A bilateral mastectomy. 20 rounds of radiation. And through it all, she kicked cancer’s butt. 💪🏾
Here’s the part that gets me: the day before her diagnosis, Ebony adopted a dog who had been abandoned at her fire station. At that dog’s very first vet visit, she was diagnosed with breast cancer too. Two fighters, one unbelievable story.
Ebony would be the first to tell you the journey isn’t over. Healing takes time, and she’s still fighting every day to find her new normal. But she’s stronger, braver, and shining brighter than ever.
That’s why we selected her: to recognize her strength, celebrate her win, and let her story remind others that early detection saves lives.
And we have a special gift for her. 🎁 Stay tuned, because we’ll be sharing the moment she opens it. Grab the tissues. 🥹
Her message to you: don’t ignore the lump. Get the mammogram.
Ebony, we are so proud of you. Nothing dims your light. ✨
