Today, I met up with some college buddies from my time at Glenville State University, and I had the chance to capture some family beach photos for them during their trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

It’s always special reconnecting with people who were part of your journey years ago and seeing how their families have grown. We had a great evening on the beach, and I’m so thankful they trusted me to capture these memories for them.

Yesterday, I met up with this amazing couple to capture a few photos during their trip to Wilmington.

The weather was overcast, but we made it work. Between the sand, the water, and the ocean breeze, it still felt like the perfect evening for photos.

I captured this portrait last month, and I've been thinking about it ever since.
We look at a lot of artists every day, but this image in particular feels heavily inspired by Maddi Randolph Photography. As soon as I took the shot, I wanted to show it to her.

One thing I love about photography is that the more I shoot, the more individual influences from other artists begin to take shape in my own work. Those inspirations blend together and help create something uniquely yours.

I think that's what makes art so valuable—creating something that comes from deep within your soul while still honoring the artists who helped shape your vision.

Go show her some love. Her influence, creativity, and artwork deserve it. ❤️📸

The Ashs ✨🌞

Yesterday, I met up with one of my favorite families! I photographed them last year, and they wanted to do it again this year, so I made the trip down to Carolina Beach to capture some new memories together.

It's always special getting to watch this little family grow right in front of my camera. Moments like these are a reminder of why I love what I do. ❤️📸

So saying I wasn't prepared is an understatement. 😅

This morning at Carolina Beach, clouds were rolling in, making for a perfectly overcast day. I decided to head over to a few spots I've visited before and hike along the marsh. As soon as I got there and pulled my camera out, this male osprey came flying through carrying a fish nearly the size of itself.

I rattled off about 20 shots in a matter of seconds, and this was the result.

I watched him for another 20 minutes down the river, but by then he was well out of range for my 70-200. Still, it was such a cool moment to witness. After watching Austin Statts Photography capture so many incredible wildlife shots, I think it's finally time to invest in a longer lens for moments like these—especially with a few trips out west coming up soon.

Regardless, I'm sure I'll improve the more wildlife I photograph, but I'm still pretty excited about this image. For one of my first intentional wildlife outings, being able to capture a moment like this feels like a win. Nature has a funny way of rewarding you when you least expect it. 📷🦅🐟
