Hummingbirds and how I came to photograph some! And a door at the end (what I originally went out for) 😂📷🧿
This was a really amazing thing to see. So, I thought I would go out around 9am and look for some doors to photograph (as you do)…It was already 86° but I thought, I t’s not that hot since I’m in low humidity but it was actually really hot, so I didn’t get as far as I thought I was going to go. I only had a little bit of water so the logical side of my brain (yes I do have one) said you can do that another day when we’re leaving with the car. However, the whole reason for this long post is because as I was walking right around the corner from where we were staying this man has a hummingbird sanctuary outside his front door that he started with loads and loads of hummingbird feeders and obviously loads and loads of hummingbirds - I was mesmerised. I only had my wide angle lens and the 50mm lens (which is what I took these on) so I was very very close to them. In fact, numerous times I felt a wing clip the side of my ear. So, of course I was there for about 40 mins and then I came back the next day for about 30 minutes and photographed the birds as my toes burnt!And that’s the story of how I got these beautiful photos. Wish I’d got more of them in flight but they are very difficult to get (I will post bloopers in the comments) and I didn’t have my telephoto also I had to reign myself in because I did want to go to the pool 🌞😂😎
