Dina Dembicki Photography

Dina Dembicki Photography I'm a fine art photographer based out of Mooresville, North Carolina. I shoot landscapes, cityscapes, abstracts and the ephemera of daily life. Hello there!!

I'm fascinated by the idea that a photograph can be so many things: the whole story, or part of it; documentation certainly, but also a statement, an art, a science, and chemistry -- literally and figuratively -- but mostly, an idea. Ultimately, the photographer shares with us what they want us to see. My photographic adventure began when my grandfather gave me his hand-me-down Miranda 35mm SLR fo

r a college photography class. This particular vintage camera, from the late 1960s, is notable as one of the first to feature an internal light meter. I still have it, displayed in my home office alongside my mother's Argus twin lens from the early 1960s. I shelved photography for many years while advancing my career in graphic design. At the end of one particularly rough day where nothing satisfied anybody (myself included), it occurred to me that I needed another creative outlet, something that I could do just for me, without judgment, feedback, or approvals from clients and managers. I remembered how much I enjoyed my college photography classes, and knew that with the advent of digital photography, I would get immediate gratification with little investment in equipment. Win-win. So, I bought a digital point-and-shoot, reviewed the basics, and off I went. The transformation of the technology has been pretty amazing! In college, I developed black and white film, specifically 35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 ASA for you analog enthusiasts. Then the digital camera was born, saving JPGs to 3.5-inch floppy disks! And now we have mirrorless; I've graduated to a Nikon full-frame Z series body. In recent years, cell phones have enabled anyone to capture high-quality images. I am awestruck at the creative possibilities that can be achieved once the raw files are on the computer. It's truly not about the equipment, but the mind behind it. Many of my shots are captured by just being in the right place at the right time. I also love to travel, and have documented some iconic places. There's a bit of many genres -- I haven't quite arrived at my personal niche. I shoot things that interest me, and I hope you find them interesting too. Graphic design pays the bills. Currently, I'm creating private brand package designs that are on shelves in Ahold Delhaize USA's grocery stores from Maine to Georgia. It's so gratifying to see my work every time I go grocery shopping. Thanks for visiting! If you see something you'd like to have on your walls, please visit me at dina-dembicki.pixels.com

I was out of commission for a bit at the end of 2025, recovering from surgery, and now my day job as an art director has been keeping me super busy! Taking a break to pop in and say hello, didn't want you to think I forgot about you!

Another new upload! If you love Italy, this one's for you.

Hello followers, friends, and family! I've uploaded another image from Italy to my shop today. I know I've said this before: If you've never visited Tuscany, please add it to your bucket list. All of Italy is beautiful, of course, but Tuscany, with its picturesque hillsides and historic villas, is stunning.

It has always been a dream of mine to visit there, and it finally came true. We visited northern Italy, covering Cinque Terre, Florence, and the Val d'Orcia area of Tuscany. I was able to shoot iconic images of the famous seaside towns in the golden hour, historical landmarks in Florence, and panoramic vistas of Tuscany reminiscent of the Gladiator movie, like this one. It was a photographer's heaven.

This is the Podere Belvedere. I believe it's a restaurant, but regardless, it's in an absolutely breathtaking location! We arrived before dawn to set up our equipment, the dew quickly forming on my camera and lens. It was chilly, as November in the northern hemisphere can be, and the dew made it damp. I took many images that morning, but this one is one of my favorites for the soft sky, the sleepy hillsides, and the possibilities of the day just waiting for the sun to rise.

Below is a link to my shop if you want to purchase this image. All prints on paper and canvas are archival quality. You can add frames to customize for your decor as well. Speaking of decor, there are also coffee mugs, towels, duvets and pillows available, among other things. If wall art or home decor is not your dealie, you can have this image printed on note cards, a notebook, a phone case, even stickers and tree ornaments!

I was able to shoot iconic images of the famous seaside towns in the golden hour, historical landmarks in Florence, and panoramic vistas of Tuscany reminiscent of the Gladiator movie, like this one. It was a photographer's heaven.

This is Agriturismo Baccoleno, a lodging in the Create Senesi area of southern Tuscany. It looks like the villa that belonged to Maximus in the movie, The Gladiator, but it isn't. Supposedly that property is in the same area, although we didn't visit it (this trip!). Baccoleno is noted for its location near the historic Capella de Baccoleno, a 17th century chapel. Although it was originally a farmhouse, today it operates as a retreat, offering guests an authentic Tuscan farm-stay experience.

New upload to my site! I have finally been able to really go through all my images from Cuba! I've uploaded this one and a few others that I've been able to retouch.

For those who actually didn't know (because I'm pretty sure I told the entire world!), I traveled to Cuba earlier this year. It was A-MAZ-ING! The food, the friendly people, the quaint places we stayed! The old cars and stately architecture, the old-fashioned European feel of the place. Did I say it was amazing! The weather was perfect, warm and sunny, just right for shooting street photography, landscapes and whatever else we could think of.

From my site, wall art is available in a variety of formats to suit your needs: archival canvas and prints, framed prints, and they can also be printed on acrylic, metal and wood. If wall art isn't your thing, there are greeting cards, puzzles and tote bags, just to name a few. I have personally purchased these products and can vouch for their quality. You will not be disappointed if you choose to make a purchase.

I've been busy! Another new upload to my site!

This is the picturesque town of Manarola on the west coast of Italy. It has always been a dream of mine to visit Italy, and it has finally come true. We visited northern Italy, covering Cinque Terre, Florence, and the Val d'Orcia area of Tuscany. I was able to shoot iconic images of the famous seaside towns in the golden hour, historical landmarks in Florence, and panoramic vistas of Tuscany reminiscent of the Gladiator movie. It was a photographer's heaven.

This, and all my other photos are available for sale in a variety of formats. You can choose from archival prints (framed, if you prefer), premium canvas, metal, acrylic and wood. They can even be printed on mugs, pillows, greeting cards and puzzles, so if wall art isn't your thing, you have other options.

New upload to my shop!

Last fall, I had the opportunity to visit Cleveland, Ohio. Although I grew up there, I haven't lived there in decades, so a lot has changed! Having been gone so long allowed me to view my hometown with entirely new eyes, as a tourist. Cleveland still has a lot to offer!

This image was taken in the Cleveland Metroparks. I believe this is near the Lawrence Grist Mill Remains, in the Rocky River reservation. The Metroparks are also known as the "Emerald Necklace," because the parks wind their way in a half circle around Cleveland, Ohio (on Lake Erie), from Rocky River on the West Side, to Chagrin and Euclid on the East Side.

This was shot at the end of the trip. We were heading to the airport to go home, taking the scenic route and winding our way south in the Park on the West Side. We stopped to get out and walk around a bit with the cameras, stretch our legs, and see what we could see.

I believe this image would be suitable for almost any room in a home or office, and it's available in a variety of formats, as well as some fun home decor items.
