Simply put, if your photographer does not know what’s going on during your wedding day, how are you supposed to know? The master timeline from your planner on your wedding day is different from the photo timeline. A lot of times, the master timelines that planners give out to all vendors do not go into photo details. That’s because it doesn’t pertain to the rest of your vendors. Your DJ doesn’t need to know that your family needs to meet for pictures under the big oak tree by the water before the ceremony. Your photographer does. And if they aren’t providing those details to you, that’s when chaos can take over. 🫣🫣🫣

I always provide a detailed photo timeline to the couple and the planner. I assign tasks to some family members or wedding party in the timeline so no one is confused. Do things always go to plan- absolutely not. But the photo timeline is a tool to keep us on track and provide clarity to everyone who is taking part in executing the photos for the day 🫶🏻

Grief and healing aren’t linear. You can’t set a timer and expect things to be over when the time runs out. There are okay days and the really bad days. I think it’s fair to share with you all the reason for my absence and why it will continue. Dixie has been a permanent member of this page since the day I brought her home. Many of you have met her or atleast seen her on my story regularly. Dixie passed away almost a week ago. I’m not myself, I’m struggling to navigate life with out her because she had literally been my life for 9-1/2 years. Her passing was very unexpected and there was nothing that could have prepared me for what we have gone through the last few weeks. If you know me, you know that my dogs are my life. And Dixie was everything to me. I will be absent on here for a while. I will share client highlights in posts. But please don’t make assumptions on my absence for interacting with anyone. I need time. I need space - but I will still share happy highlights from clients weddings and sessions. Thank you all for your grace while I navigate a new normal. Thank you for those of you who have reached out to me personally offering condolences. I’m not ignoring you. But I’m not ready to accept that I’ve gone from two dogs to one. I just need time to figure things out. Social media will take a back seat, but I also think it’s fair to let everyone know why I will be absent for the foreseeable future. She will forever be my Charleston girl.
