Everyone's sharing their Cedar Creek Ranch weddings, so here I am doing the same! Anyone else carving Amy & Johnny Forever into a tree like me? Love them together!

CCR looked lovely on the show, and I love that one of the main photos I see circulating is of Amy and Johnny on the swing! All the brides love using the swing by the pond and Heather was no exception, it was her must-have portrait! Of course the swing broke the night before and the staff at CCR went above and beyond to make sure it was repaired just in time for our sunset portraits!

Bridal portraits! They are such an important piece to your final album. It's when your look fully comes together for the first time and you get that first glimpse in the mirror and those bridal butterflies start fluttering away. It feels real! It's finally happening. You're a bride. And you feel your most beautiful self.

I often get asked whether to do a bridal session before the wedding or if they should wait and do them on the wedding day. My answer is always: It depends.

The wedding day is certainly busy, you'll already be taking lots of photos throughout the day, and there is a chance the timeline gets off kilter a bit which may tighten up the schedule. It's not unusual to have just a couple minutes to grab a few bridal portraits as we move to our next piece of the timeline. For many, that's perfect!

Bridal sessions, on the other hand, give you an opportunity to pull your full bridal look together a month or two before the big day and give it a test run. You'll probably use your hair and makeup trial for this occasion, you'll have your florist make a special bouquet, and you'll get to move around in your dress to ensure it feels good - that no further alterations are necessary. And since we are not under any time constraints, we can take the time to get more creative with your portraits and use several different locations around your venue so you have lots of variety in your gallery. It can be such a fun day celebrating you, with a few of your favorite girls along to help fluff your dress and sip champagne!

So my final answer... it depends! How much variety do you want? Are you interested in trying out your full look ahead of time? Do you want to display a bridal portrait at your reception? Do you have a tight timeline already? Maybe a separate session is a better choice! So tell me, what do you prefer?

Room Flips! Ever heard of them?

If you're newly planning your wedding, this term may have recently entered your vocabulary. It's when your ceremony *and* reception take place in the same space and your room gets makeover in record speed. While your guests are off enjoying cocktail hour and you are having portraits taken, your vendor team is inside working their magic to give your room a new look! There's definitely pro's and con's to this arrangement, but is completely do-able as long as everyone is properly prepared!

Things to consider: Trust your planner to hire a team that's the right size to get the job done quickly. Splurge on your cocktail hour food, entertainment, and length so that your guests are fully content during the flip. Work with your photographer to build a timeline that's reserved enough time to photograph your flipped reception space properly. Afterall, you've invested energy and finances to have a showstopper space, let's be sure it's documented for you! I always recommend doing a first look when room flips are involved so that time isn't spread too thin during that portion of the day.

It's wedding day for these two love birds! Valentina has put so much careful thought into the sentimental details throughout the day. I can't wait to see them come together for her and Bradley! Bradley is a CMPD Officer and there may or may not be a vintage police car involved...

Jennifer and Brandon's 'engagement session' will always be a favorite! Would you believe me if I told you they weren't recently engaged? They were actually planning their 10 year anniversary vow renewal and I've got to trust that marriages only get better with time because their chemistry is still sizzling 😅
