Silky or not silky? That is the question.
Informal poll - do you prefer waterfalls captured:
a) in a long exposure where the water appears silky, or
b) in a more traditional form, where the water is frozen in motion?
It has come to my attention that, while photographers seem to think that people prefer silky shots, I'm not convinced that's true.
Here are 2 shots of Sol duc Falls in Olympic National Park for comparison. Ignoring the slight difference in editing, what say you?

Adding to my collection of foggy forest prints, is this shot taken along the Beacon Heights Overlook trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just a stone's throw from Grandfather Mountain and the Linn Cove Viaduct, this trail was a treasure in itself. Stepping across rocks and roots while slowly climbing upward, with fog adding to the mystery, it was heaven for a photographer!
We never made it to the overlook - it was a bit longer than anticipated and time was short. But this tree - this tree! I love this tree!

Thank you to the buyer in Minneapolis, MN for their purchase of one of my favorites from Italy - Cadini di Misurina Sunrise. This image as taken after a rough pre-dawn hike over slippery gravel at elevation in the Dolomites. Almost sprained my ankle, couldn't see much except for what appeared in the light of my headlamp, SO out of breath with each step.
But it was worth it! Watching the sun rise and light up the peaks was truly humbling.
I'm so excited for this to be a statement in someone's home.

Planted in the early 1700's, Brookgreen Garden's Live Oak Aleé looking in from the statue of Diana.
Branches spread across the garden gracefully, draped in delicate Spanish Moss. Shining in the sunlight at the far end of the garden is a statue of Dionysus. An ancient brick wall defines the space, while a garden cart is evidence of the never ending job of tending to the gardens. Can you find the gardener?
