Congratulations to Alyssa and Trevor! 🤍 💍

I've had the privilege of photographing these two for nearly four years now, so getting to capture their wedding day was incredibly special. Thank you both for trusting me through so many milestones. You two are some of the kindest, most easygoing people, and I couldn't be happier for you.

Confession from a photographer...

About 15 minutes before the end of the wedding, my camera battery unexpectedly died.

When I told Alyssa and Trevor what had happened, they didn't panic. They just looked around and asked, "Does anybody have an iPhone?"

So... that's exactly what we did.

The first photo was taken on an iPhone. The second is a reminder from where it all started.

I think that's a pretty good reminder that while professional gear absolutely has its place, the photographer behind the camera matters just as much. Composition, lighting, timing, and the ability to tell a story don't disappear just because the camera changes.

That said, I also believe in learning from every experience. As soon as I got home, I ordered a backup battery, and it now comes with me to every wedding. My job is to be prepared, adapt when the unexpected happens, and make sure my couples still receive beautiful memories no matter what.

Thank you again, Alyssa and Trevor, for trusting me, rolling with the unexpected, and being the amazing humans you are. Here's to a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures together. 📸

A comment on one of my recent photos got me thinking, and I wanted to pull back the curtain a little on what photographers do.

Yes, programs like Lightroom now have AI-assisted tools such as object removal and masking. But those tools don't magically create a finished image. They still require a lot of time and patience from the photographer.

Photography is also an art form, and artists don't all create the same way. Some photographers believe in capturing the perfect image straight out of the camera. Others believe in taking a good image and carefully shaping it into the final vision they had in mind through editing. Neither approach is wrong.

For me personally, photography has always been about both the moment and the artistry that comes afterward. I spend hours editing because I love refining the tiny details and creating images that feel magical and intentional. The editing process is just as much a part of my art as pressing the shutter.

At the end of the day, whether a photographer spends five minutes editing or five hours, the goal is the same: to create beautiful, meaningful images that our clients will treasure for years to come.

The tools may evolve, but the heart, creativity, and labor behind photography are still very human.
