Attention all knitters, crocheters, yarn stores, people with knitted or crocheted sweaters they no longer want... WE NEED YARN!!!
I am so honored to be working with non-profit organization Mental Health Reimagined on it's first initiative, Threads to Hope, in the effort to break the silence around mental health, using art and storytelling to reduce stigma and foster mental wellness in both participants and the community. The project we are working on is well, quite literally building a Bridge to Wellness. We will use yarn to build a massive string art bridge (approximately 18 ft tall by 34 ft long) and I am looking for any and all types of yarn to use in the making of this incredible installation. We will take your scraps, leftovers, unwanted yarn...anything you have and are willing to part with!
For any stores/companies who want to be a sponsor and donate a quantity of yarn, this is a registered 501-C so we can provide you with a letter to use for tax write-off purposes if desired. We will also have a display with all sponsors listed and will be sure to include them in all social media, press etc.
See the link below for a little more info, but basically we are building a suspension bridge where people can come and weave their “stories” into the bridge. Each participant can make a courageous connection, whether through their story or having been moved by someone else's story. Everyone will have the opportunity to spread courage by adding their thread and weaving a powerful testament to collective growth, love, hope, and resilience.
Together, we're creating opportunities for people to share their stories, turning their threads of hope into a tapestry of resilience and transformation. Through these events, we hope to collect over 2,000 strings to add to the over 700,000 we will eventually use to construct our bridge. These numbers represent lives lost to su***de here and around the world... you can help us build our bridge to wellness, one thread at a time.
If you have anything you are willing to donate, please email me [email protected] or text me @ 704-201-1549
