Her childhood home, now the home where they are raising their first baby 🥹

I don’t think I could have dreamed up a more beautiful place to document this beginning. Every room felt collected and lived in and wonderfully whimsical. Old photographs, quilts, tiny treasures, pottery and evidence of a whole life already lived here. And now, a new little life tucked right into the middle of it.

To be trusted with someone’s people, their home, their new season. I will never take it lightly 🌟

How love moves through a room.

I wrote those words into my contract years ago because somewhere along the way I realized that this is what I am actually looking for when I pick up my camera.

Not only what love looks like when it is standing at an altar or is posing but all the ways it moves around the edges.

Who reaches for whom. Who knows when to come close.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

And standing there listening, I kept thinking about what a gift it is to be known across many versions of a life. To have people who remember. People who stay. People who know the words to the old songs and sing the harmonies with you.

And then to gather all of that history into one room with children and family and friendship and flowers and tears and laughter, and make space for something new.

Maybe that is what I love most about weddings like this one. Love rarely arrives empty handed.

It brings everything with it. The years. The stories. The scars. The people who helped carry us here. The lives already being lived. And somehow, it makes room for more.

I photographed nearly 2,000 pieces of this day and still what I hope they see when they look through them is something no photograph could ever fully contain: how very loved they were in that room 🫶🏽🥂

You can tell a lot about someone by what gathers in the space when they are gone.

Here in the Queen City, it was flowers, glitter, butterflies shaky handwriting, and people leaving pieces of their hearts on the sidewalk.

And behind all of it, painted across that blue wall reads ‘Love is love’

I think Dolly spent a lifetime saying that in a thousand different ways. And people heard her 😭

Art holding grief. Grief making more art. And all of it right here in the Queen City for a true Queen 👑

We spend so much of life waiting for the moments that feel important only to discover that love was quietly gathering in the ones we almost overlooked.

I have come to believe that memory does not cling to perfection. It settles into the texture of a life that is truly lived.

And somehow, the in between becomes the inheritance.

The memories and images that once felt ordinary become the ones we can’t imagine living without 🥹

Yesterday reminded me that some of life’s most meaningful moments don’t ask for attention. They ask for reverence. Grateful to be trusted with so many threshold moments in this work 🫶🏽

It’s not every day that the husband is the one who reaches out to book the photo session 🥹 I knew this one would be special when he sent a sneak peek of this gorgeous sunflower field he planted and watching him love and delight in all of his beautiful girls was next level 😭 What a beautiful evening with this extremely special family🌻

Been a little quiet over here as I’ve been working hard on exciting projects/films/galleries etc. - it’s been a full summer and my social media presence is lacking but I am so grateful for all the amazing opportunities I’ve had to be present, create + deliver my work. Exciting things coming so keep an eye out 🌟 I have a couple openings for births through the end of the year! Witnessed a twin birth and booked a mountain wedding within 3 days this week I am just so abundantly grateful to be trusted with these stories 🌟

Years distilled into faces. Into stories. Into gratitude moving around a room like w**e being poured. I had never experienced a Supra before and last night I discovered its soul. The sacred practice of slowing down long enough to remember that a life is measured not in achievements but in relationships.

Again and again, glasses were raised. Not only to June but to the people who walk beside her. Family. Friends. Colleagues. The countless hands that help shape a life well lived.

“Someday Came.” What a profound thing to stand beneath at the end of a career. Not look what I achieved. Not look what I built. Simply, “the day we hoped for arrived”.

As the evening settled into a golden June sunset around the home they named Someday Came, it felt like more than a retirement party. It felt like a harvest. A rich harvest of relationships. A rich harvest of faithfulness. A rich harvest of a life that left people better than it found them.
