Earlier this year, I had the absolute joy and privilege of taking photos of a dear family in our church who are pursuing adoption. Joe and Melicia are two incredible human beings who will make the sweetest parents someday, and we are hoping and praying that day is soon! If you or someone you know is pregnant and considering adoption, would you consider reaching out to Joe and Melicia? Hear from them in their own words:

"We are really excited about the process of adoption for numerous reasons. It has always been our heart to grow our family by adoption. Scripture is very clear that we have received the Spirit of adoption as sons and are now fellow heirs with Christ - and we can't keep that to ourselves. This isn't to say that we view adoption as a rescue or ourselves as Savior, but rather an opportunity to love on an expectant mother and step in during a tough and unpredictable season in her life. We wish to walk alongside her through the ups and downs of adoption, supporting her where we can. While this child may not be related biologically, we will love them as our own and celebrate their biological roots. We want to provide a safe, loving, and healthy home, and be able to share our blessings as we have been blessed."

I love photography. I love even more the people I get to meet along the journey. So many loving, wonderfully supportive friendships have been made simply because I picked up a camera. But my biggest supporter by far is Matt. Encouraging me, helping keep me awake while I edit, keeping the kids while I go off on shoots. He also supports me when I realize I need to step back and focus on being a mom and a wife first and foremost. So for just this fall, I’m going to be doing limited sessions. I’ll still be doing a mini session day on October 15 (I’ll be sharing time slot reservations soon!) but other than that will really be limiting what I take on for the sake of my family. I love you all and thank you so much for your support and understanding ❤️

I don’t get people who hate to shoot receptions! I love the chance to capture the vibe and energy and get a little artsy doing it! This dance floor was the hypest (my phone wants to autocorrect this but it’s totally a word) party I’ve ever seen it and I love how you can just FEEL the energy in this photo! Also love me a bride who just lets loose and goes crazy when her song comes on and did not disappoint!
