I almost missed it this year but my lovely gym gal at Anytime Fitness in Lovingston (yay!) came up to me mid workout & said “Hey! Is this you?!” & it turns out the fabulous Christina from the wonderful SPEAK! (Language Center) had nominated me!

I just needed to share this picture with y’all!

After a lifetime of on & off trying to learn a second language I decided speaking Spanish would be helpful. I’ve had a bunch of teachers (shout out to who really started me on the path) but finding SPEAK!! Language center has changed EVERYTHING!
I’ve had a few teachers, in person and on line, Franco! John! ALL terrific (as are, SO importantly the PEOPLE in the groups, ‘cause we TALK! & learn about each others lives & interests! & practice..)
But y’all.. DAYRA is the highlight of my WEEK! I haven’t laughed that much in ages and I’m learning as well!

Last week we did a big shoot for SPEAK!! that I can’t wait to share with everyone, we had SO much fun!
This is NOT an official headshot, it’s got too much motion to be “correct” but I came across it in the editing & it just felt to me, SO much of who she is!

Usually when I’m making portraits I like to just focus on one person at a time, being there with just them building something together.. but SOMETIMES I get to photo two good friends, and OCCASIONALLY siblings.
This shoot was SO special because not only did I have Clara AND Adele but Taylor came along & joined in to the fun. (She had her own shoot later, but having her and her beautiful energy there added SO much)

Stealing from Denise : “Sometimes you find that true friend who answers the phone and drops all of her plans to run straight up a mountain with you in the dark so you can train for soccer, who walks into your life when you are so sad that it is hard to look at but she sits with you and holds your hand lets you cry and makes you laugh somehow, who camps with you at the last minute in the terrifying thunderstorm on top of the parkway, who brings you rainbow rocks because she knows the meaning and love that it brings to you. Thank you Stephanie for capturing a friendship that has so much depth, maturity, and beauty. Thank you Taylor for being that friend to my girls. And thank you Julia, Emily, Ava, Anna, Lake, Ellery, Hyler, Lyra, Jodie, Hazel and all the other beautiful young women who have supported and loved Adele and Clara.
