June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and that’s why we created, and are now sharing, our very first competition piece of the year. Inspired by Dax’s “To Be a Man” and my own struggles with mental health, this image shows how fathers carry their families’ burdens, often hiding their own struggles. With Father’s Day tomorrow, let’s remember that even when dads seem unshakable, there is always a battle, conflict or situation that they are fighting inside. This is a statement to all men out there, you are seen, you are heard and you are appreciated. Dont be afraid to open up and let people know what you are battling and never become a prisoner to your thoughts. You MATTER!!!

This image was created using a complex multiple exposure image, it was ALL CREATED IN CAMERA!!! Special thanks to Rob Mulligan for the use of his camera and for modeling, other model Jesse Boydston, the model pictured Ranger Wright and of course my assistant in the camera room as always, Shea.
